Hiya

I am currently 18 weeks and just wondering when you all felt the first movement of your baby and did you know straight away thats what it was

i am not sure at all whether i have or havent , its my first baby so not quite sure how its going to feel

have felt some odd sensations at night once or twice but barely noticeable so might have been imagining it lol

should i start to feel more and more over the next few weeks ??

I started to feel some little butterfly flutters or like little bubbles popping in my tummy at about 16 weeks..which I would like to think are the baby (and not trapped wind) they were so quick, like by the time I realised what they were they were gone. I've prob felt it more than I realised and its very likely you have too.

Some things I have felt which i am not sure if it's baby or not, is likesome little kicks, but at 19 weeks, I don't think they could kick that hard?? It'slikea little bit of pressure from inside my tummy, like someone just poking me from inside?

It's my first too hon, so it is weird isn't it!! You should start feeling it more over the next few weeks, I noticed a little reaction toplacing a cold glass of water on my tummy! LOL xxx

I started feeling mine at about 16 weeks, its exactly like bubbles in your tummy. I started to feel proper pokes and nudges at around 21 weeks and the first real dig at 25 weeks. Im now 31 + 2 and baby makes my tummy crawl when he moves and he really lifted it last night while I was in the bath. He also kicks if something gets to close to my tummy till I move, he kicked hubby in the back really hard when I was hugging him from behind in bed. Its the strangest thing when you remember you've got a little person living inside you. His movements have been getting quite painful these past few weeks but he is running out of room now. Hubby asked me what it felt like the other week and the only way I could describe it was like a spasm in my stomach. xx

I started feeling movements at about 19 weeks, just flutters at first and as the weeks progress they get stronger.
I know what you mean mossy's missus....its really bizarre isn't it, I had a knee or something moving across my tummy 2 nights ago and it was like something out of alien. And when the feet press out of my sides its really uncomfortable. I think hiccups are the best though as your whole belly jumps with them....they are soooo funny.

Hello there!

Hope you are well, it is supposed to be average for first pregnancy to start feeling baby at around 20 weeks (give or take depending on the person). That was about right with my first and then with my second it was sooner which is also normal, around 18 weeks. You could be feeling bubba, it is highly likely. To be honest with me, it feels a little like the digestive movements which is why it is hard to tell, some claim flutterings but I have to admit I have never experienced this. But there will come a time when the movements will become completely obvious to you. Some are very strange, when they do somersaults, your tummy feels like a washing machine all swishing about, not my favourite feeling in the world and neither is tap dancing on my cervix, being the second time around it actually feels like its going to pop out, I have to cross my legs LOL!

Enjoy the movements hun, its very special experiencing it all for the first time.

NJ x

hi!
i felt first flutters at 16 weeks (too much moving around on the nintendo wii, think i shook him up a bit lol!), and then felt little kicks from 18 weeks. hubby was able to feel from about 20 weeks. i am now 29+1 and he is constantly kicking and poking me, sometimes it really makes you jump!! you have so much to look forward to, i love feeling the movements....my belly will feel empty when he is born!xx

hey I first felt movements (like a flip flop movement) at 16 weeks, kicks/prods at 18 and hubby felt bubs first at 19 weeks (but only felt them for a second time last week at 22 weeks) this is my first and I have anterior placenta but ever scan/doppler check has shown I have a very wriggly baby which is now constantly on the go- I have had friends who've had sleepy babys at their scans who didnt feel anything til later- on the plus side they got fab pics where as my little wriggle bum didnt want to pose and took ages lol x

My scan's on Thursday (I updated our due in august thread but we've disappeared again!) very early at 8am and yes we will be finding out. I'm convinced it's a boy although I'd love a girl too! Shame you have to wait until you are 22 weeks but at least you'll only be 18 weeks before you meet your baby (well give or take!)

I'll try to bring our thread back up

i had the first movement at 16 weeks, felt like when you go ove a hill and leave your tummy behind (but i wasnt moving!!!!) but then nothing for weeks which made me start to worry! had 20 week scan and it was wriggling and kicking like no tomorrow but i couldnt feel a thing. really weird to see it kick but not feel it! now 24 weeks and the last 3'ish weeks all i can feel is kcik and nudges! reassuring to feel it everyday but when trying to sleep can be slighlty annoying hence being up at 4am! hubby loves to feel it though, makes it seem real.

hi ladies hope your all ok today ...

still very worried not feeling what i would notice as any movement .... every time my tummy does something odd and wondering if its movement or not !

am 20 weeks on thursday and have read it can be normal not to feel anything at 20 weeks and can be based on weight etc

i was a few pounds over weight before getting pregnant (7 pounds) so shouldnt have thought that would make a difference

hubby says he can hear movement when he lays his head on my tummy ... is that right ?? could he be hearing something at only 20 weeks ??

am driving myself mad .. scan isnt for another 2 weeks ...
