Subject: Anyone doing Slimming World?
Hi ladies,
I've seen there's a Weight Watchers thread so I thought I'd ask if anyone is doing SW? I started in September, and have lost 26lbs so far. I still have another 40lbs to get to target but I'm determined to get there!!! I've dropped 2 dress sizes and am smaller than I've been in about 12 years! I've just found "THE DRESS" today after I tried it on, so this has given me renewed enthusiasm to get my A into G and get back on track. I've been a bit slack since xmas but I really am ready and raring now. I must start exercising :\)
Any fellow SW'ers out there?.....

Hi Tracy. I go to Slimming World.

Congratulations! You have done brilliantly. 26Ibs since September is wonderful. Bet you fee great. You'll do the next 40Ibs no problem. When is your wedding?

I have been a joined last July after piling on the weight during my pregnancy. I am now just 4 Ibs off my original target and it is so hard to get there! I think because I know I am close I am being naughtier than normal. This target is just the one I said I wanted to reach when I joined. I would actually now prefer to go another half a stone further but with wedding dress fittings etc I think I might wait until afterwards. I have a dog that a walk and a little one that I run after but other than that and the odd bike ride I don't exercise really. I need to loose this 4Ibs by the end of the month when my dress comes in!

I have really enjoyed doing SW. You can eat so much and I have improved my diet in many ways. Before, I would diet by skipping meals but now I loose weight and eat! I suppose the hard thing to remember is that it's a way of life from now on else that weight will creep back on. My h2b joined too. I never ever thought he would and he is looking fantacstic. Why do men loose it easier than women? Not fair. But he is the cook in our house and try's out loads of new things so meals are never boring. If it was down to me we'd live of jackets and beans!

When do you hjave your weigh in?

SW is brill isn't it girls. I have done many other diets before, including WW and I used to feel so restricted on them. Once you used up your allowance that was it for he day, whereas with SW, you can eat all day every day and I love that coz I have a huge appetite.
Wow 4lb from target is amazing, it feels like a mission away for me, but I'm darn sure I'll do it eventually. My weigh in is a Wed night at 7.30pm. We get married on 5th April (fly to Cyprus 30th March). What about you?
AyiaNapaBride2b - It's very easy to put weight on over the festive periods isn't it? In previous years that would have been me easily, but last xmas I managed to lose 1.5lbs!!! I did put on a couple of pounds in Jan, but I put that down to finishing off the kids chocolates lol!
We can do it girls!!

I'm thinking about doing SW as I got a bit sick of points counting on WW when I did it a few years ago and I've heard this one is much easier to work out. I never got really hungry on WW as I felt I was constantly eating during the day to get to my daily allowance - breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, tea - I was sick of eating!! - but working out the points was a real pain.

Is SW really easier to stick to?

Hi Vod, I personally find SW much easier than WW. There's not much weighing of food involved which I find the easiest. When I did WW I constantly had to weigh everything and it done my head in. SW has loads of "free food" where it's unlimited on how much you want which is best for me who could eat the average man under the table lol! Also, you get "sins" where that bit of chocolate isn't forbidden, it's just restricted on portion size, just enough to satisfy your craving in my opinion. SW has been the only diet I've stuck to and lost the most weight with. It's really changed my way of thinking, and even if I think I've had a bad week, when I look at it, it's nowhere like my eating habits before SW.

Hey there ladies!

My name's Marie and i'm a Slimming World-a-holic!!!

I lost 4 stone in just over a year but that was almost 5 years ago. (I was much younger, fitter and walked everywhere as I didn't have a car at the time.)

Of course the weight crept back on......see what the the love of a good man and a good pizza can do to your figure!!!!

I re-joined 18mnths ago and lost a stone and a half in about 10 weeks then fell pregnant with my now 6mnth old daughter.

I've been back at SW for 9 weeks and lost 17lbs so far. Have heaps to lose but our wedding isn't until June 2011 so have quite some time yet!!

It's great to have this thread and i'll post my weight loss, (or gain!!) after weigh in on a Tuesday evening. :\)

Hi Marie,
Welcome to the SW thread Wow you did/are doing really well I've got til March 2011 too but I really need to be at target or as close to target as I can by summer so I can get measured for my dress. I found THE ONE yesterday so now it's a matter of belly busters until I can order it lol!
Good luck and we should all keep each other posted to spur each other on over the coming weeks/months.

Yes we should let each other know how we're getting on. My weigh in is on a Wednesday too at 5.30.
My 4Ibs is now 6Ibs ( I am being so good and apart from one biscuit yesterday I haven't been naughty at all. I don't understand what is happening. I'm supposed to go down not up! We marry in May although dress fittings should start end of March/Beginning of April so I really only have a few weeks.
Looks like a fruit few days for me!

I would recomment anyone joins SW. I have never done WW but I can't see how anything could be easier than the SW Extra Easy plan!

Brooks13, by the time Wednesday comes round it may have gone back down. Your weight can fluctuate a few punds either way every day and it also depends on the time of your month too. When I'm due my period, I either maintain, or only lose half a pound no matter how good I've been.

Hi Ladies, Can i join in?

My first time on SW, Joined last Tuesday night so first weigh in today.. Bit worried as i have just got the dreaded "monthly" - although do not normally get them as i have the implant so feel really pooey . i know this can effect the weight loss so really hoping i dont think "oh iv ONLY lost" and keep on.. Also taking medication at the moment as was in a serious car accident last month ....god i should write a book haha..So i know i may not even loose anything...i know i will feel disheartened if i dont..

Anyways, hopefully i could join, need some support to keep me on track want to go back to a size 12 for the wedding (currently a shocking 16!!) not sure if this can be done in 6 months?

Hope your all doing well.. <3

Hi Georgina! Welcome to the SW thread! Of course you're welcome to join us. Please don't be disheartened if you don't lose much or anything. Like you said, your monthly is here and you're on medication, both of which can affect your weight loss. It's certainly possible to drop 2 dress sizes in your timeframe. I joined SW in September and I've gone from a size 20 to a 16 and have lost nearly 2st (2lb to get to it) and I've still got another 2.5st to go until I'm at my target I set. I'm positive I'll get there or close by summer to get measured for my dress. We're not getting married til April next year - fly to Cyprus 30th March. Good luck!
