Good Afternoon fellow December brides.......

Just sat here thinking about wedding stuff getting rather excited (just for a change lol)

Just wondering what you are all having for your reception drinks. At first we thought mulled wine on a cold winters day would just set the scene wonderfully but is mulled wine popular? I must admit, im not a massive fan myself!!! Would rather have a vodka and diet coke lol! Are you having a choice of drinks for your guests?

Would love to hear what you are all planning on having...

Hi,

I am having Kir Royales for my reception drinks and am also considering mulled wine but like you am not too sure if my guests will like this. A friend of mine when she got married had two different cocktails served, one called the blushing bride which was vodka/juice based and the gallant groom which was whiskey based which was great for all the men!

I like that idea of the cocktails!

Its hard because you are never going to please everyone with the choice of drinks.....i guess champagne would be the easiest option but fancy something a bit different!

Think we are going for mulled wine, but might have something else too. I am sure for the arrival drinks most people would try it

We're having the same as you Kungfubarbie - half mulled wine and half champagne. Hoping to also offer around hot mince pies at the same time, but depends on whether venue let me bring them myself (they wanted to charge over £800 for three canapes per person, so looking for cheaper options!)

MrsLobley2B - I think Winter Pimms is slightly spicier than the normal and drunk warm? Might be wrong, but somebody was telling me about it.

We're having white mulled wine as our venu won't let us have coloured drinks in the room where we have the drinks reception. Has anyone ever had white mulled wine?

Never heard of it I'm afraid! I'm thinking of mulled wine as people arrive ie before the ceremony then champagne after. A little worried that everyone might bea bit tipsy quite early in the day.....

We had warm winter pimms and it was AMAZING!! It was normal pimms with made ginger ale and hot apple juice. Everyone commented on it and how fantastic it was. It was def one of the best decisions we made as people still talk about the warm winter pimms now! We had along side it Bucks Fizz

We're having mulled wine, and hot choc for kids/non drinkers. I'm going to make snowflake marshmallows to put in the hot choc. Well, I'm going to try, I've just bought a sugar thermometer.
Been considering whether we should offer champagne too for the non mulled winers.

I've had White mulled wine, you can get it in Marks and Spencer. Don't know if they only have it at Chrimbo but it is lovely. x

Hiya we were going to have Kir Royales as the colour will go with our theme but now our Best Man and my lovely H2B have decided to come up with a cocktail of their own! My H2b is a Bar supervisor and Best Man works for him so thinking they will come up with something good - just hope everyone like it. They are going to name it after us too. xx
