Hello, I am also getting married on the 9th July 2011!!

I have so far booked venue ( for ceremony and reception), registrar, photographer, videographer , band and wedding cars. H2B's mum is making the cake so thats sorted. I have looked at some dresses but really waiting until July before I make appointments to try them on!

I have yet to decide on a colour scheme and I'm really struggling to decide.

How are you getting on with the planning?xx

Hi

My plans are going ok so far I have booked my venue, registrar, photographer, I have also booked a saxaphonist to play at welcome drinks and throughout the wedding breakfast.

I have tried dresses on to see what style I wanted. now am looking out for the one! That's really good that your H"B's mum is making the cake. I did think about making it myself but I wouldn't have a clue where to start ha ha!!

I know what you mean about a colour theme I don't have a clue, I keep picking one then changing it again the next day!!

Where are you getting married?

I know I'm really lucky that h2b's mum is fab cake maker and she will decorate cake to our requirements so this will save us a bit of money yet we will get exactly what we want.

Thats really cool having a Saxaphonist. It will really get your guests chilled out, especially if your going for photos whilst they are having welcome drinks.

Glad its not just me having problem choosing colours! The main problem for me is that I want a colour that won't clash with H2b's kilt, which has a quite vivid red pattern against navy and dark green! x

Hiya, before you two I'd only found 2 date twins - our day doesn't seen as popular as others
I have booked venue, provisonally booked registrar, booked photographer and videographer - started trying dresses on on Sat - but need to lose some weight to fit in the samples so that will hae to go on hold. I keep changing colour scheme ideas too - theres so many nice colours ha ha. Next on my list is to find a DJ or band as i dont want to leave that too late
P.S. My mum might make our cake as shes good at them.

Hello Pixen and KayJay7274,

I was starting to think that there were only two the two of us with that date!!

From the looks of things we are all roughly at the same stage of planning. Thats good to know! Some of me friends/family were shocked at how much I had booked as I only got engaged on 31st Dec and by end of Jan had my venue booked!

Dress shopping can't wait. Have looked at some but not tried on yet.

Dont even know about table centres so your well organized Kay Jay. What are you having?

Where are you ladies having your weddings?x

I'm getting married in Stockton, but I'm not from there - what about you?
I have been engaged for a year and a half so am have been itching to get stuff planned but its too early to do a lot of stuff - I am impatient lol.
I am meant to be healthy eating but have just ate a triple chocolate cookie - i think i'm just thinking i have ages till the wedding but i bet it flies by!!
I have tablecentre ideas but need to decide my colour scheme first which keeps changing.
Where you thinking of for honeymoon? Theres so many nice places i cant decide lol

Hi Ladies

Yeah there is more of us, I was like Srummie2b and thinking we were the only 2. oh its so exciting, the 9th July 2011 will be here before we know it!

I am getting married at Headlam Hall near Darlington so not far from you PIxen.

Scrummie2b - I bet it is really hard to think of a colour that won't clash with a kilt, I am sure you will find a lovely colour there is so much to choose from!

Pixen - I have been thinking about a band too, as you say we need to start looking before they all get booked up argh!

Kayjay7274 - wow you seem very organised I haven't even thought about table centres yet and you also have your flowers.

I really want to go to australia for my Honeymoon but its the winter season so i am not to sure.

H2B says he wants a DJ not a band so at least that narrows it down. Think I'm gonna make some more dress appointments as some people getting married after us have got their dresses arrgghhh. Until i choose my dress i can choose bridesmaid colours, stationary, flowers, centrepices or groomsmen suits aarrgghhh.
If we can afford a honeymoon then I think possibly Italy or a cruise
Mrs Johnson 2B - I'm at Wynyard Hall (although i'm a geordie we just fell in love with it) - havent been to Hedlam Hall but it seems popular
I waste hours on here instead of actually doing anything constructive he he.
Are we all Northerners on here then?
Is there any decent wedding fairs coming up? I want to get some centrepiece ideas and just like to go and nosy around he he xx

Hi Pixen,

Have no idea where to go for Honeymoon, Think i'll leave that to H2B to organise. I would quite like it to be a surprise, so I dont even ahve to pack my own suitcase... one less thing to think about!! I've been with my fiance for 8 years but only engaged 2 1/2 months so really wanting to get everyhting organised!

Mrs Johnston2B- Booking my band was the hardest thing so far. We only got out third choice as our top two where booked up already and that was in Jan!!

Decided to go shopping for dress in two weeks time, since I'm off and theres a shop up near my mums I really want to go to. Originally had planned waiting till July!!

Not sure of any wedding fairs. Last one I went to was In Glasgow in Feb. Will look out for more but they may be bit far away. Love this website for finding out what others doing- look on reception thread for ideas for centre pieces.

Of course MrsKStobe you can join us. Where are you getting married? Howz the planning?

Hey

Wow Pixen, Wynyard hall is gorgeous, you are going to have a beautitful day there. very impressed.

Scrummie2b I planned on waiting till july too to try on dresses but i could not wait that long. You will love it its so strange seeing yourself in the mirror and trying all differnt styles on. I wanted to do it all day. Good luck with the dress hunting. Looks like I best start looking for a band if I am having one!

MrsKstobe - welcome how exciting when our day is over yours will be just starting. hope the planning and everything is going well have you got much sorted?

Welcome MrsKstobe
We've been together 5 and a half years - thought he was never going to propose he he.

I started trying dresses on last sat - it was weird-i felt strange wearing a big white dress. I couldnt try many on as i need to lose some weight so think i'll wait till summer so i can use my gym membership.

Thanks MrsJohnson-we were just about to book somewhere else when I saw it advertised in the free metro paper - fate lol.
