I wrote on an old thread about this in wedding fashion forum but thought prob best to post here.
I am waiting on news of my dress from Juliettes in paisley- was told it would be in last month.
Just rings out when I phone, have not had any replied to a.m. message or email? Anyone else got their dress here, is waiting to hear, or had past experience buying their dress from here?

I ordered my dress there last year and it is due in July..
I have had nothing but problems trying to contact them also and never return messages either. Also made an appt with my bmaid to go and try a dress on and Margaret never even turned up, i waited half an hour and still nothing. I then rang and left messages saying i was at the door etc and guess what....still no phonecall in return!!!!!!!!! My friend was there in sat for an appointment for her wedding and I hear of other people who have same problems when trying to contact her dating back a few years. I guess what i am trying to say is that she is a complete nightmare, but i dont thin we should be worrying about them closing down or anything, think that is just the way she is.
I heard that they hire dresses, so I tried to go in today for a look and there was a handwritten note on the door saying they were closed and to go to an alterations shop called Napiers around the corner. After reading this I'm put off the idea of trying to hire a dress from them, sounds like it'd be a total hassle!
Oh god, dont like reading things like this it makes me panic. I ordered my dress from them about a month ago (and put down rather a large deposit) and have found them quite difficult to get hold of as well before and after ordering. I ordered from them because they were so much cheaper than other shops and the lady does genuinely seem nice enough.
I think maybe Cole's mum is right about it just being the way she is rather than any other worries (or at least i hope thats the case).
Let us know how you get on Shimmers84 because although there have been a few people talking about ordering dresses from there, I'm finding it difficult to find experiences of people after they recieved them and how they got on. xx
Cherry Berry- agree that Cole's Mum probably spot on. I guess she is running a small business and doesn't have lots of staff so I'm sure it's just that she is hard to get hold of. I will try phoning again tomorrow as they should be open on a Sat. Will keep you updated. x
My cousin bought bridemaids dresses from this shop and after the first fitting she couldnt get a hold of the lady for 6 months that was weekly calls emails and even going down to the shop when my aunt finally managed to get into the shop she turned round to her and said "i'm not dealing with the bride anymore any contact will be through you" this was only because my cousin was contacting her weekly to try and sort things out and after all the bride was the customer. In the end my cousin only ended up with the dresses 2 weeks before the wedding.
I wouldnt advise anyone to use this shop and if you have already booked and paid just keep in contact with her as much as possible even if it means standing outside ringing the bell for ages, i think she runs the shop on her own and she locks the doors if she is upstairs with a customer. If you ring the bell for ages she wont be able to ignore it the client she has with her would start asking questions.
Hey cherryberry,
I do know around5 or 6 people who have bought from juliettes and received their dresses etc without any hassle.
The only thing i would recommend is that you do not use her alterations woman, as she is just as much a nightmare as Margaret in Juliettes and iv heard of brdes not getting their dresses bac from her until the day before the wedding.
My dress is due in July, so I rang to confirm this and she said "no no 6 weeks before your date", i said no as i had asked for it to be delivered in July. She took a note of my receipt number and just said ok bye. No "ok, I will ring you back" nothing, Now thats customer service for you ha ha!!!
To be fair I dont think there are many bridal shops out there who do conduct excellent customer service.
Well I long for my dress but as I have received poor service as yet I am ordering my bridesmaid dresses elsewhere
Is her alterations woman Napiers? This is who my dress shop is using.
Ive told the shop i want my dress as soon as its in and ill take it in there was alteration as i dont like the though of the shop going bust and my dress being in their shop! I am with Lily Rose bridal and they have been just as bad!!!!!
Thanks for the reassurance, i know im probably over reacting since i havent had bad service from her myself (except the phone issue!) I shall bear in mind what uv said about the alterations woman cos id probably rather take the dress as soon as its in anyway and maybe get someone closer to home to do it (im travelling over there from uddingston). I get a feeling shes quite laid back with regards to when the dresses come in but i think she should understand that people are maybe a wee bit more wary of shops at the moment and dont like the thought of waiting too long.
I think that maybe lots of people have problems in one way or another with bridal shops, seems to be the way doesnt it. xxx
i bought my dress from juliettes, im from dundee and found it a nightmare getting ahold of her, she is a lovely woman and i dont think she is meaning to ignore people however its not the best customer service, she needs to be more organised. i bought my dress ages ago, got told it would be in oct, phoned in october got told that was too soon so november came, had to keep chasing and she almost made me out to be a bit bridezilla but she was the one who told me dress would be in for oct so when it didnt arrive i started to panic, it arrived and i had to pay it in full when it came without seeing it on first. i literally went to the shop and picked it up it was in a box and got it back to dundee. i didnt like not being able to get ahold of her easy. she runs shop on her own, she does close shop off when customers are in, she doesnt really do internet, her son deals with this. i wouldnt worry i would just be persistant. x

I ordered my dress in March 2009 & she told me the dresses take roughly 6-8 months to come in to the shop.
I callled NUMEROUS times in March this year for an update on my dress. I gave up trying to get an answer, so ended up leaving a message. She left me a message back, making me feel like a bit of an idiot saying no, no, no the dresses are made in order of the weddings. It will be in the shop 6-8 weeks before your wedding. I know what she originally told me!
I am now panicking slightly - I don't want to wait until weeks before my wedding to lay eyes on my dress!!
She did say I would need my receipt number if I want my dress before then, which I also feel is a bit of a worry, should she not have copies of receipt numbers against her orders?? Anyone can lose a tiny piece of paper!
I shall continue to try & get a hold of her!
I just joined this yesterday as I feel so strongly about no bride to be being treated the way I have. I bought my dress from Margaret in Nov 2008. I thought she seemed a really nice lady and seemed to know a thing or two about dresses. Six weeks ago I did start to wonder why I had heard nothing so continually phoned until I got hold of her. I had to read out all the details to her she said she would enquire about my dress and get back to me, guess what she didn't get back to me! I then phoned the following week she still had no idea about my dress( prob because she hadn't even bothered to find out). I then got some story about a flood and that paperwork had been damaged (no back-up on computer or anything like that!) She apparantly enquired about my dress and said it would be in ther shop in two weeks. Well after two weeks still no call. So once again I phoned her and yet again it is was like starting all over again, giving the invoice number, saying what I had ordered, she didn't have a clue about anything to do with my order! By this point I was getting upset, so my mum got angry and left her a cheeky message, after this funny enough she could then tell me that the dress would be arriving the following week and reassured me that my underskirt and veil would also arrive. Margaret then told me to make an appointment with Nappiers. My dress did arrive and five weeks before the big day I was ready to go to nappiers to try it on. At my work Margaret decided to phone me(a first) to let me know that unless I paid the rest of the balance of my dress then I would be unable to try on my dress that day. I was finishing work at 4 and appointment was at 4:30, I had to ask my mum to get the money for me an bring it so that I could still try on the dress! Can you believe it, she told me to make the appointment and knew when it was but waited until that day to tell me I needed to come up with the cash! When I arrived no veil and no underskirt and there was a note on my dress which said wedding June!! I phoned Margaret the next day to ask about my veil and underskirt. She said that she had sent the shop veil across as it identical to mine and that mine wasn't in yet. I told her that the veil she had sent over was nothing like the veil that I had ordered. Margaret then asked me to describe the veil, I explained that I would find this really difficult as I hadn't seen it for so long!! I did my best but made the mistake of saying that I thought it was full length, what I really meant was that it wasn't shoulder length. She started going crazy saying that I was confusing her and that I should know what length my own veil was. I couldn't believe my ears and said "well you should really have an order number written done instead of asking me". By this point she had lost it and was shouting and bawling at me down the phone, the only thing I could manage to say was " I think the way you run a buisness is shocking". I was told not to be cheeky and rude and then she hung up on me. I was in tears as you can imagine, I had to ask to get away from work and took a friend with me. We arrived at the shop and polietly asked for my veil and underskirt. In the shop she shouted and bawled saying that she wished that I had never stepped foot in her shop and that I should appologise to her for being rude!!! As you can imagine I refused, she then proceeded to pull the veil out of my hands in a rage and refused to give me the veil which was bought and paid for by my aunt in 2008. She gave my friend the money then physically shoved me out the door. I don't how I managed to stay so calm. the woman is a nutter!!! I went over to Nappiers who have my dress and gave them the underskirt. The lady there said she would get the number of the veil from Margaret, I have tried to order the veil directly through Amanda Wyatt, what a surprise the lovely Margaret has give the wrong reference number so they have no idea which veil I want. A harsh lesson has been learned on my part, don't be fooled bt the nice lady that welcomes you into her shop, she doesn't know how to run a buisness and is only in it for the money. She only cares about getting the money off you and doesn't care that you end up totally stressed. She has had many failed buisnesses before and i'm sorry for those of you that are awaiting dresses but this will be another failed buisness as she doesn't have a clue how to treat customers. My only advice is dont even contemplate buying a dress from here, if you have get down there on Sat and don't leave until you see her physically phoning about your dress and make sure that she actually knows what she is ordering. Also make sure you take someone with you as a witness as she is a compulsive liar and just hope that she doesn't start getting aggressive!!
