Subject: Anyone had a period while pregnant?!
Help - I'm really confused.
For the last week and a half I've been experiencing what I thought were pregnancy symptoms: strange twinge around 7 dpo, slight nausea, very thirsty - especially in the morning, stuffy nose/cold-like symptoms, enlarged breasts, really bloated, faint veins showing up on breasts, mild cramps, heightened sense of smell, but now AF seems to have turned up, only 1 day late. It feels a bit different to normal though. Normally I have quite painful cramps, but this time I don't. Just the same mild cramps I've had for the last week and a half. I did test a yesterday before AF had arrived, but got a BFN. Is there any hope left? Have the other symptoms just been wishful thinking or is it possible to still have a period in early pregnancy?
Anyone else had a similar experience? Just discovered something called 'decidual bleeding' - could this be it?

Aww honey I hope you get your BFP x
I didn't experience any symptoms in those early days so my trigger was a missed AF - to be honest I wasnt looking for symptoms so would have put them down to AF being due if they had arisen or just being a bit run down xx Having said that, lots of women sense that they might be pregnant and feel different very early on so wishing you the best of luck xx

My friend had "periods" for months (which is why she didn't find out she was pregnant till at 5 months she started growing a bump!). If you really think the bleeding is different then you could do another test in a couple of days, but don't really want to get your hopes up love as it doesn't look great- sorry. The first month we were ttc I had a very very light period that I thought could be an implantation bleed. Turns out it wasn't and I think it was just me stressing and hoping so much that it affected my body.

Hey sweetie, I know this must be such a trying time for you but this does just sound like a period, is it the first since coming off the pill? If not it could just be your body still adjusting to what it is supposed to be doing. It is not unheard of to continue having periods during pregnancy. But what I would say is the symptoms you have listed, particularly pregnancy nausea doesn't tend to kick in until week 5 or 6 of pregnancy so really too soon to be experiencing that and the other symptoms where very much like premenstal symptoms.
As the other ladies say, if you really suspect you are pregnant then the best thing to do is take another test in a few days or go to see the doctor.
