Recently engaged w2b needs photographer suggestions!

Hi everyone!

Very excited to be "officially" on this site now (even though Ive been reading it for years! *whistles innocently*).

H2b & I are starting to plan our November wedding. It's rather a rather intimidating challenge from this end of things...Im sure it will be less scary once we actually start to cross things off the list. (For starters a venue would be nice!)

The one are that topped both our "priority" list was a photographer. We'd really like to find & fantastic, professional, modern photographer.

Can anybody recommend one? We live in East Anglia but are prepared to pay a little extra to get a highly recommended one from elsewhere.

I checked out loads of photographers for my friend who was getting married last year - she lives in New Zealand and for my wedding. My favourite was Arabella Carter-Johnson who is based in Leics but I know she travels, I saw on her blog that she photographed a wedding in Norfolk last year. She has a more modern style than some but will do all the traditional posed group shots for the parents. Generally though she is a mix between reportage, capture the moment stuff with some more arty posed images for the bridal portaits. I liked her because she was so easy to get along with and she would easily mix in well with my friends, I guess she is in her late twenties and she really seems to understand what sort of support a bride needs on the day. She knows when to step in and help and when to merge into the background. Her albums are amazing, I have had one made of a family portrait session I had with her but I think she still sells the dvd with usage rights so you can just have a package with that which makes it cheaper. We have found them very helpful and they will taylor a package towards the things that are important to you - you dont have to have pre-made packages with things in that you dont want.

Where bouts in east anglia are you? There's a big wedding show at norfolk showground near norwich sat and sun. There are loads of photographers going to be there. Might be an idea to go if you're able.

My photographer is Dan from Lightening Photography, I love his photos! He is very helpful, and will do whatever you want. He's based in Norwich, and not sure how far he would travel though! x

We went to a wedding late last year in Northumberland and one in North Yorkshire and the same photographer was there... and now we have booked him for our wedding next year

We are using Bob Thompson, based in Norwich. Several people I know have used him and were really happy with the results.
