How much are you spending on your weddings? Originally I thought I wouldn't fit on here but the amount I'm spending has nearly doubled, eek, so wondering where I'd be! x

This question pops up again and again....generally ppl on here don't like to say how much they are spending....it's not money that means you get to post in here, just enjoying lifes little luxuries is fine

when are you getting married

Hi Pink Butterfly,

I too am getting married August 2011.

To be honest I lurk more than I post but BBB is my favourite. Like pink gal said, it seems to be more about liking all things sparkly rather than the budget. Also I find everyone here seems really friendly as some of the other ones can get a bit 'bitchy' at times.
I am well over budget, it has doubled already and still things to do but loving every minute of the planning, think I will be quite sad when the big day os over...what will I do then!!

Hi Princessskates,

We are getting married on the 26th August which is the friday of the bank holiday.

I have already sorted venue, photographer, videographer, florist, suits, hair and make up lady, cake, venue dresser and my dress.

Still need to book registrar which I can't do until August, need to sort out bridesmaid dresses, rings and stationery.

How is your planning coming along?

Ooooh, I'm the 27th August! Where abouts is your wedding? I'm at Oulton Hall in Leeds...

You are super organised, I can't believe you have your dress!

I've booked: venue, photographer, cars, band, and arranged church ceremony with the vicar.
Am waiting for a quote back from a florist, and seeing a cake person and videographer next month.

When are you going to start with the BM dress shopping? My chief BM thinks it would be too early to look now!!

I know what you're mean about what to do when it's all over, I'd be lost! Think I'll have to start arranging my friend's weddings or something

I'm getting married a couple of weeks before on 6th August - where are you both getting married?

Loubylou you're even more organised than me! What's your dress like? Tried on my first one a couple of weeks okay, was so exciting. At the mo I've sorted the venue and food, band for the evening, magician, chair covers, photographer, bridesmaids dresses, hair and make up woman, transport and rings. Love it!

Do you know where you're going for stationary? And Loubylou who are you having as a venue dresser? Assumed we'd do it ourselves but would love to look at sites of good people just in case.

Def not too early for BM dresses, if nothing else get an idea of what style suits them. I'm really lucky and my fiancee's mum is making them so get the dresses exactly how I want and in the colour I want. The only prob with getting the dresses now is if they change shape. One of mine is adamant she's losing a stone before the big day so can't make them until next year.

Hi pink, we are getting married at Oulton Hall near Leeds, which a church ceremony before! Where is your wedding?

I'm struggling on the stationery front at the moment, like quite a few but can't decide!!! At the moment www.prettywild.co.uk is looking favourite, but we're waiting until the new website launches!

Also - did your BMs not mind you being so organised?

Sorry - you replied again before I saw!! Hmmmm will have to convince my BMs to start now!! I've got four and they all live all over the country so it could be quite hard to get them all together!! What colour scheme are you having? xx

I am getting married at Bartle Hall in Preston.

I went dress shopping last weekend for the first time and never thought i'd find my dress. It was the 5th dress I tried on and didn't want to take it off. It is 'Twinkle' by Dizzie Lizzie Couture.

Not sure what to do about bridesmaids. I am having them in black dresses which I want to be tea length. I have 2 grown ups and my daughter who will be 10 at the wedding. The problem I have is finding the same dress for all 3. Not sure if it will be best to have a dressmaker to make them so they are all the same. The only difference maybe will that my daughter will have straps.
My other daughter who will be 3 is flowergirl and will probably just go to Debenhams for hers.

My venue dresser is Creative Cover who are based in Preston. The lady there is lovely. She is doing chair covers, swagging the top table and cake table and also I am having a white carpet down the aisle.

As for stationery, I too am waiting for the PrettyWild website to be up and running. They have some fab pics on flickr...their work is lovely. Also I like Dragonfly, they have some fab chequebook style invites which H2B says are a bit pricey..but I can work on him lol.

I'm having a pink themed wedding, but quite a dark grown up pink rather than baby pink. It took some convincing but am so pleased my wedding will be an accurate reflection of me. I'm getting married in Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park. When I saw it I felt in love!

Def get your girls going shopping for bridesmaid dresses. One of mine is really into it and keeps sending me links to stuff which I love.

Loubylou your dress and all of them on the site look gorgeous. With your bridesmaids, perhaps you could have your 10 year old and three year old wearing similar dresses, and your adult dresses wearing the same thing, otherwise a dressmaker could be the way to go. Know my girls are loving having the dresses made for them and it just means that because they're made specifically for them, they look really flattering
