Is anyone having their Grooms wedding ring designed/made?

Hi,

I just wanted to find out if anyone has had their grooms wedding ring made?

My H2B wants a certain design for his ring, and we have actually seen it made by Smooch rings, but it seems a little pricey, and i know there are loads of companies out there who design rings for you, but we are looking for a really reasonably priced company to keep within our budget.

Can anyone recommend any?

Probably wont be much help but we got both our rings made - but in Goa! My brother was on his eleventh visit there and he has had lots of jewellery made over the years, he picks the stones and tells the jeweller the design he wants, when he gets back to Birmingham he takes it to the jewellery quarter to get a valuation and nothing has ever been less than twice the value he paid, sometimes more! So I tried one on with diamonds in, sent him the website, picked one for H2B (who just wanted "one with a diamond in" no doubt because I was lol!) and my brother printed the pics off and took them to jeweller. He saw the diamonds first (and gave me a choice of carat) and then they were made. When he went to collect them he wouldnt have had to take them if he didnt like them - but they are fabulous and so much gold in them!! The one I tried on here was £399, and felt like a feather (though looked lovely on) - there it was £250, weighs loads more too. I havent had them valued yet but I have no doubts at all.
So, if you fancy a holiday before wedding I will let you know the name and address!! (or send me the money and I will go for you, just £500 expenses lol!)

I think any independent manufacturing jeweller will give you a better deal that the high street/ an retail site in my experience. They rely on their good name for business and are more helpful and willing to get you what you want for the price you want. My e ring I saw in a jeweller for about twice our budget and not in sapphire like I wanted- i drew it on the back of a receipt (!) and had it made to my budget - and I think it looks nicer than the original I saw!

I agree - always better than a high street store.

They have more to lose if you dont buy from them so they will be more eger to help

Andrew English (google it!) is another dude who does this, but he was rude as heck in email so didn't get very far with him! xx
