1st anniversary!!

Hi, it's our 1st wedding anniversary at the end of March. We want to do something special for it but don't know what.

I need some recommendations for hotels or UK breaks. Travel is not a problem but we don't want to spend more than about £200 for a 2 night stay somewhere.

Ideally a nice hotel with stuff to do near by...

anyone?

We're going to Anns Hill in te Lake District for our 1st anniversary. It's a luxury cottage, looks absolutely fab and the people have been so lovely.

we went back to our venue for the day and evening (we got married over 100 miles away), at the time we got married we spent that time inside

What sort of thing are you looking for? A city break or something out in the country?
As countryfolk we booked a weekend down in London (got the hotel room in th Hilton half price sale promotion they were running for January and then ended up getting upgraded to a posh suite!), we cashed in our Tesco Clubcard vouchers to spend an enormous amount on a lovely dinner at a greek restaurant and did lots of shopping and nosing round the sights and free things during the day.

It was fantastic.

we actually ended up booking a luxury log cabin in eye, suffolk. am sooooooo excited. it has its own private sauna in the main bathroom and private jacuzzi outside on the verandah. and a remote control electric fire (log fire effect) cannot wait!

unfortunately it wasnt available on our actual anniversary weekend so we are going in april instead.

on our actual wedding anniversary we are going to go for lunch at a little pub near to our venue - every time we went to the venue to look around or confirm details etc... we would stop off at this pub. then in the evening we are going out for cocktails and any friends or family that want to come along to celebrate are welcome.

That sounds loooooovely! And the weather will hopefully be a bit nicer in April so the thought of being outdoors in a jacuzzi mightn't be so freezing!

Our actual anniversary fell midweek and we didn't really do anything special (we also got married in Canada, so timewise the actual moment we'd have got married would be 1am in the morning the following day here!) so we just waited til the weekend and properly celebrated it then.

We are supposed to get a free meal at the Castle restaurant where we got married (included in what we paid for the wedding)

I was originally thinking of getting a room and making a weekend of it but we have just found out we're pregnant, so I'm not sure now!!
