Hi Russell,
I can't decide whether to wear white or not - if I don't go for white, will I regret it? And if I don't go for white, what colour would you recommend? I don't want anything as dramatic as red. I'm 22 years old and size 10. We're planning to marry in May next year.
Thanks!

Hi Russell
I hope you can help - I always wanted to have a strapless dress but I have a little frame and a big bust, so nothing I try on has seemed right so far - do you think a strapless gown is out of the question? What other necklines would suit someone of my frame (I'm only 5ft1 too!)

Hi Sweetiebride
I think you should wear the shade that suits you as white is hard to wear.
Maybe go to a bridal shop and try on ivory and white and decide whate suits your skin tone most.
Red is quite harsh so only go bold if thats what you have always dreamed of!
Love
Russell
Good Luck

Hi Dorset Bride
If you are petite in height but fuller on the bust try a simple spaghetti strap or cap sleeve also try empire line under the bust as will lengthen your body and create the appearence of being taller.
Have fun

Hi Russell
I have my mother's wedding dress and it would mean a lot to me if I could use her dress in some way when I get married. However, its quite '70's' and dated so would need a lot of work. I realise it is difficult for you to say as you haven't seen it but from your experience would it be a difficult job to transform an old wedding dress into something more up-to-date or would this end up crazy expensive and not really worth it? It would mean a lot to both my mum and me, so if poss would like to give it go.
Look forward to your response...

Hi Rachie Rach
Hi my prediction is deep vintage tones and bright vibrant tones for summer and lots of grecian inspired styles. Soft column and floaty dresses will be a gig trend for 2010/11
Think soft fluid lines empire and aline to suit many body shapes, but remaining stylish and modern.
Best Russell

Hi Chic Shropshire
Black is a great look this season in many forms including Sash's, Crosages, and trims including lace.
So try Cymbeline a fabulous french designer label or if you really prepared to push the boat out 'Vera Wang is a must!
Love

Hi Soon to be Mrs S
Well the 70's were fabulous for fashion so i think that the best advice i can give you is look through the fashion pages of the latest You and Your Wedding and see if there are dresses that mirror your mums style of gown in any way and see if you can get together some tear sheets of what you love.
Then source a great dress designer or seamstress who has come highly reccomended to see if together you can create a fabulous look peicing together the ideas you have formed possibly in a look book or on a mood board.
Have fun doing this and you never know you may create the dress of your dreams.

Dear Soon_to_be_MRS_S
I think that unless it's really great lace and clean (ie not dis-coloured from time and you know a brilliant person to re-make the dress it often turns out to be very tricky.
Sometimes it is better to get a new dress and incorporate a piece of the dress as the petticoat or the sash.
Unless you are really devoted to the style it is already it is really tricky to change it, Or how about you wear it for your reception in the evening re made into a shorter dress?.
However, it is hard to talk about it having never seen what it is!
