Subject: 1st Year Anniversary
Hi all,

I might be a bit early asking about this but we got married on the 11th and so I am starting to worry about what to buy Hubby for an anniversary gift. (I always like to be prepared for things like this)

He is really hard to buy for at the best of times. The only thing I thought of recently was getting him a new wallet. Obviously thats not really an 'anniversary' type gift though. So I am really really stuck now.

Hubby is going through a tough time at work and so it's not really ideal for me to book a surprise weekend away or anything plus we get a free dinner at the castle where we got married so makes sense to use that. I have checked and the rooms are fully booked so we can't even stay over, I will be driving as I am pregnant so not drinking anyway.

I can think of things that I want or would be suitable for hubby to do for me but not other way around, haha! Wish I had a good way of hinting without telling!

Please can anyone tell me what you are doing or help me with some ideas!!

Ohhhh...It's my first wedding anniversary in June and, until reading your post, I hadn't even thought about a present for my husband. So now I'm in the same boat as you. I don't have the slightest clue what to get him. He doesn't have any hobbies, other than going to the football and playing on his Xbox360/wii, so he's not the easiest person to buy for, especially when you want to buy him something a bit special.

We're going to our Reception venue for Sunday lunch on our anniversary and then the following weekend we are going to stay for a long weekend in a luxury cottage in the Lake District but I just don't know what to get him for an actual gift. He's not a 'named brand' sort of a person and he already has an expensive watch which he got for his 21st so these sorts of things are out.

well its paper anniversary, so tickets, gift certificates and stuff.

for our wedding day i got hubby a certificate signed by alex ferguson from man u because he likes footie and he loved it so i've written another letter to them to see what they can do for our first anniversary. failing that im booking us a holiday for his birthday in november so i'll give him the tickets for that or something.

anniversaries are so difficult!! lol

Ohhh it's tough. I am almost giving up on the idea of a 'paper' or anniversary/romantic sort of gift. So hard.

Thinking now realistically Hubby would be much happier with a cool gadget gift. He has been asking if he can get an ipad for a while and I keep saying no. (He has an iphone and a mini laptop so whats the point?!) But thinking now that it would be a big surprise (after me saying no, and they only just come out end of May) and I know he would be dead excited to receive it - so maybe thats my best option as know it would make him happy.

I got him a personalised number plate for his bday and the watch he wears is worth far more than I could ever afford. I wish I could book us a trip away but it's unfortunately just not possible with his work.

I know it sounds sad but I just hope he gets me something romantic, even though I'm not for him. I was so gutted when I got a Wii game for valentines day last year! Thats why I am trying so hard to think of something nice so that he may start to get the idea to get me nice things too! haha!
