I will be using Janet White Ashby for my wedding..next Saturday! She is fab, was brilliant on my trial session and always really helpful & quick to respond to any queries. I would definitely recommend her, she's based in Penarth.

A word of warning regarding Kate Peterson- I contacted her when I saw a recommendation on her but never heard from her despite sending emails & leaving messages on several occasions. I have up as I wasn't really keen on using someone I'd have to chase all the time. Also was a bit surprised to find that some of the photos she's used on her website actually appear to be from an unrelated site and not actually hers! I found the photos when looking for ideas for my hair do. She may well be ok but I was dubious!

I booked with Kate and didn't hear from her for a while.

When I went for my trial she explained she had been quite ill hence the withdrawal.

I can honestly, genuinely recommend her. She was absolutely brilliant. I only booked her cuz somebody recommended her on one of the threads here and she totally surpassed my expectations: i've never ever looked so goog in my life!!!

I also get quite nervous/shy when meeting new people and don't like people doing my hair and make-up. She made me feel extremely relaxed and we chatted non-stop for 3 hours!

ankzishere - I have booked with Kate too for my wedding in December. Havent had my trial yet, thinking of having it in October. Did she try lots of different styles - did you tell her the sort of look you wanted and did she give you any suggestions etc?

Im a bit nervous about the whole make up thing! Im used to doing it the way i do and worried i wont like they way she does it!!!

I've booked Kate too and have my trial in 3 weeks, but when i have met her and spoken to her on the phone (3 or 4 times) she has really understood my ideas and I can't wait for her to do my hair and make up.

I know that "Don'thavetobloodywait" used Kate for her make-up and she looked fab (see Maes Manor thread, her pics may still be on there)

I'm sure i'll be posting my trial and wedding pictures, so if your still looking then Carly, you'll be able to see mine.

I watched Kate as she did a trial run for my friend 2 weeks ago, and I was very impressed. I used to be a hairdresser and beauty therapist so I'm very picky with other people's work.

I'll be having my trial with her soon.

thanks ladies, mine is not until next July so i have plenty of time but would like to get everything booked in asap to relieve the stress haha, thanks so much x
