What is everyone doing for their 1st anniversary?

Hi, I got married on the 18th September 2009, and i remember this time last year, the nerves were building and stress was well set in.

This year, what sweet bliss to just enjoy planning what to do on our anniversary and celebrating the past year we have had together as man and wife.

Traditionally, it should be paper you give (tell me if i'm wrong cause that could be a possibility). We are not going for single gifts just joint one's as the annivrsary is about both of us. Me and my husband (i still love saying that) have treated ourselves to a trip to London before the 6 weeks hols started and on our anniversary we are staying in a hotel were we first met at a wedding.

The day before our anniversary we are attending my cousins wedding so I have all the excitement of a wedding just no stress.

How has everyone found there 1st year?

I came on here looking for ideas for this! Looking for something not too expensive and also not involving travelling! We did a LOT of travelling the past two months and would be nice to stay still for once!

We went away for our anniversary in july to a lovely hotel.

We both really struggled with gifts...paper made it hard. I wanted it to be a paper gift and follow tradition. In the end I made an origami version of our wedding outfits and framed them. My husband loved it and it has been praised by everyone who has seen it.

Hi Ladies,

Came on here looking for some inspiration too. My husband and I got married September 19th.....and are expecting our first child on our anniversary. Promise it wasn't planned that way But I'd still like the day to be about us but have absolutely no inspiration yet. My brain just doesn't want to work.

Was thinking about booking a romantic weekend away, but it's going to be difficult whether babe is born or not.
I like the idea of origami! I also wrote him a poem but I'd like to give him something too.

We christened our baby girl in the church we got married in Was a really special day.
