I've just learned that one of the guests at my very small wedding is planning on wearing a cream coloured lace and satin dress. I feel a bit miffed about this, though I'm not really sure why. I suppose I just feel that this is the one occasion where you should be confident that no one is going to turn up in something similar.
I decided just to forget about it and not let it bother me, but I made the mistake of mentioning how I felt to my mum, who can't understand that I'm bothered about. She seems to have done a poll of people she works with, who all seem to think it's fine to wear white/cream/ivory to a wedding and that I'm just being old-fashioned.
Maybe I am being a bit selfish, but I just wish guests would steer clear of white & cream in the first place, and this would never be an issue!
its understandable that you'd prefer to be the only one but I don't think its a problem. People will know you're the bride and will only focus on you anyway and probably not even notice someone else in cream
You'd think hey'd avoid it wouldnt you? Apart from anything else its a bother to keep clean!!! Don't suppose its anyone that you could joke with and mention that you dont think its a good colour??? As for your mum, well, shes just trying to make it ok, mums are odd humans!!!
I must admit, I've never really thought about it before and wore a white trouser suit to a family wedding a couple of years ago and didn't get an ghastly looks! But perhaps wearing a trouser suit is a little different to a lace and satin dress...which does sound a bit weddingy?!
I personally would be a bit miffed, and would never wear cream to anyone elses wedding. But that said, if someone chose to i wouldn't say anything, because everyone at my wedding will know that im the bride anyway!! x
I personally think it is a big no no to wear white/cream/ivory to a wedding and actually a little rude. i am wearing pink but still wouldn't be comfortable with someone wearing that colour.
cream or white suit would be fine but a bloody lace and satin dress, is she taking the p*ss? she would be banned from the start, i would have a hit man waiting at the door for her lol. some woman just feel the need to be the centre of attention even if its not there day.i deffo would think about the hit man lol
Speaking of mother in laws mine keeps showing me gold dresses for her to wear.........................My dress is gold.............she ees thinking it will co-ordinate well. I am feeling funny about this am I wrong?
So if i started a hit girl service im on to a winner??/
I will hide in a bush near there homes and squirt tomato sauce all over there dresses so they have to change outfits...what should i charge..ummmm a wedding invite??I love a wedding!
