The brides who refuse to wear makeup on their wedding day

“When my husband first met me, I had not had my bath, but he saw and fell in love with my natural look. So, who am I supposed to be making all that up for on my wedding day?”

When it comes to choosing your wedding day makeup, there is an overwhelming choice of looks. There’s the classic romantic look, the glamourous red lip and cat eye, the natural bronzed look and many, many more (just check those YouTube bridal makeup tutorials).

But there’s one look that you hardly ever see on brides, which is becoming increasingly popular: the no makeup look. That’s right, your bare face, with no makeup whatsoever.

THE BEST FACIALS FOR BRIDES

Just last week, a picture of Bisola Umoren, from Lagos, Nigeria, was shared over 1,000 times on Twitter, with many praising her natural look.

The bride explained that when her husband fell in love with her, she was sporting a natural look, and she didn’t see why she should change that on her wedding day.

She told Naji.com, When my husband first met me, I had not had my bath, but he saw and fell in love with my natural look.

“My hair was due, my face looked way older, I was even tying nylon on my hair when he came to me on that fateful morning, yet he loved what he saw. So, who am I supposed to be making all that up for on my wedding day?

DELICIOUSLY ELLA'S BEST BEAUTY TIPS

“I’m not the make-up type. I don’t even wear earrings or like to drop my hair. I don’t like any form of inconvenience or discomfort on my face, my neck and entire body.

“It is not a church thing, it is just me and my personal decision.”

Since then, many brides have posted their own #nomakeupbride selfies, and we have to say, you don’t need makeup to look stunning and radiant. Take a look below…

Hi ladies yes mrs j2017

i have a very different outlook on life now than i used to and i like andys decision on everything, im not incapable of making my own choices but i came out of a relationship where my ex didnt care less. Yes there is a balance and very often its a compromise But i like his decisions most of the time But i am my own woman to:)

I love make up but i go over the top dramatic sometimes and its nice to calm it down a bit,   I have just tried a light lipstick and thats probably a no, im wearing bright blood red!   My eyes will be very natural with a hint of green eye shadow and pencil i think,

i used to where make all day every day in a high profile pa role but now i teach i wear none.

I like makeup so I will be wearing, and how I wear it will depend on what I like, not what h2b likes.

I noticed Katherine that you make a few choices based on what your fiance likes (which type of dresses you tried on, the makeup) and while its nice to take his views into account I dont think it should affect the final decisions. I think if you want to wear a certain lipstick you should wear it, he loves you for you, and so would it not be better to be yourself fully?

Theres nothing wrong with not wearing makeup, and theres nothing wrong with wearing it, as long as the person wearing it or not is happy with that choice, and its their own choice.

My fi's never seen me in makeup,so for the wedding i m thinking of just getting a good moisturizing but not noticeable lip gloss to stop my lips going dry. Looking like me when I look in the mirror is very important to me so i m keeping my look in general quite simple.

I love the framing of this - 'refusing' to wear make-up as if it's not a perfectly valid choice.

My issue is I don't like the look of foundation/blusher/eyeshadow on me in real life, but I know it will cover up my red blotches for the photos!

I don't wear any on a normal day. I will have some on the wedding day but it needs to look quite natural and I refuse to pay a fortune for it!

Im just looking at this option now. My fiance hates makeup. I like a bright lilstick and abit of make up. So im looking for a mid tone peach lipstick and will use my green eyeliner and brown shadow and a tiny bit of blusher. I have very green eyes dark brown hair and pale skin. Im not wearing a stark white dress, and having rose gold jewellery. Im 50 in june a month before wedding.
