All the best men's fashion from the 2012 oscars plus style secrets you can steal for your groom
Jean Dujardin may have taken home the golden statue for best actor, but Brad Pitt (clad in picture-perfect Tom Ford) definitely won the prize for Best Tressed. With luscious locks to rival those of longtime partner Angelina Jolie (who wowed in Atelier Versace), the Moneyball star showed that the men's hairstyles can get people talking too.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! Rather than try to compete with Katie Holmes' stunning Elie Saab look, Tom (who presented the award for Best Picture) matched her in true navy blue.
Fashion crush alert! From the oversized velvet bowtie and black shirt buttons to the sleek trim on his jacket and waistcoat, Pharrell Williams – who co-composed the score for the ceremony – updated basic black-tie in all the right ways. (Seriously, has a three-piece ever looked this cool?)
Leave it to George Clooney (who was up for Best Actor for his star turn in The Descendants) to find the perfect finishing touches for his Armani suit: statuesque girlfriend Stacy Keibler in shimmering Marchesa and super-refined footwear. Note the elegant arc of his patent shoes.
Flight of the Conchords star Bret McKenzie – who scored his first Oscar for Best Original Song (Man or Muppet from The Muppets film) – jumped for joy on the red carpet, proving that 'fun' and 'formal' can go hand-in-hand.
It's his trademark, so it's little wonder Best Actor winner Jean Dujardin (the first Frenchman to ever snap up the prize) accessorised his single-button dinner jacket with that gold-medal grin. (And speaking of accessories, fellow actor/wife Alexandra Lamy won us over with her dangly bag, earrings and dress embellishments.)
Mr B redefined drop-dead gorgeous in a timelessly stylish Christian Dior tux. (Meanwhile, we're saving up for Victoria's belted column dress – one of her faves from her new collection, she revealed on Twitter.)
Oh how we love a guy in glasses! Sexy specs were everywhere on the red carpet (also see Star Trek's Zachary Quinto, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy nominee Gary Oldman, Bridesmaids director Paul Feig and The Descendants' Matthew Lillard) but nobody did four eyes better than Best Director winner Michel Hazanavicius. (His wife, The Artist star Bérénice Bejo, completed this glam pairing in a delicately beaded Elie Saab creation.)
It was all about the bow-tie for most of the guys this year, but the Mad Men heartthrob (and Bridesmaids cad!) very stylishly demonstrated that a long, skinny black tie still counts as formalwear. We were also thrilled to see his partner/Friends With Kids director and costar Jennifer Westfeldt rocking a sexy blue deep-V-neck by Australian bridal designer Johanna Johnson.
And finally, in yet another coup for blue this year, menswear master Tom Ford cut a staggeringly handsome figure at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Midnight blue + velvety texture? If your groom won't wear it, we will!
