Weekly wedding workout plan: intermediate circuit 2
Squat jumps: 3 sets of 20
Jump up from a squatting position, keeping your arms by your sides. Go back into a squat as you land.
Chair dips with feet on bench: 3 sets of 20
Sit on the edge of a chair, with legs extended and feet resting on a bench, holding the seat either side of your hips. Lift off the chair, and lower yourself towards the floor, knees bent; bend your elbows to 90° (max). Push back up, straightening your arms.
One-leg stiff-leg deadlifts: 3 sets of 20
Stand on one leg. Bend at the waist to lower the dumbells towards the floor, keeping your back flat, extending the free leg behind you.
Squat and push presses: 3 sets of 20
Perform a squat while holding dumbells; as you stand up, lift your arms over your head.
Single-leg calf raises: 3 sets of 20
Stand with feet hip distance apart, hands lightly resting on the back of a chair. Raise one heel and rise up so your weight is across the ball of your foot. Lower to starting position. Alternate legs.
Alternating-arm press-ups: 3 sets of 20
Assume the press-up position, holding dumbbells. Lift one hand at a time off the floor towards your chest, bending your elbow. Keep the rest of your body still.
Walking lunges: 3 sets of 20
From standing, step forward with one foot, dropping your hips towards the floor and bending both knees – don’t bend your front leg more than 90°. Push up, step forward with your back foot and repeat.
Biceps curls: 3 sets of 20
With a dumbbell in each hand, stand with your arms at your sides. Keep your upper arms still and curl your hands up towards your shoulders.
Toe touches: 3 sets of 20
Lie on your back, legs extended in the air, arms raised over your head.
