Splash some colour

We use a lot of multicoloured laces on our dresses, dirty pastels, laser print pastels - i love wedding dresses that are not white and ivory'

Sometimes tradition isn't for everyone, so why not try an alternative gown to really make a statement?

Get snap happy

'If you've got a wedding gown thats got pastel pink or lilac in it, that can be carried through to your bridesmaids, to your flowers, to your table decorations and it makes the photography look so smartly thought out'

Think of the type of overall look you want to give off in your pictures, and run with it. If you want a strong theme to be clear throughout, then pairing your dress with your styling can have an amazing effect.

More for your money

A detachable overskirt is a fantastic way to bring your style from ceremony to reception. Two for the price of one!

Match made

'We believe that the hat should have the same decoration as the dress does'

Ian uses the same beading and crystals when constructing his hats for mothers of the bride as he does for his dresses.

Be original

Ian uses fine laces that are exclusive to his designs, to offer brides something that nobody else has to make his dresses that little more special.

Black is back

There's a big trend for black at the moment, and Ian has created a beautiful gown with a matching veil for his new collection (which you can see in our next issue - out September 14th!). There's a lot of diverse brides who don't necessarily want white: 'when you're designing dresses you can't just think of one person.'

Open to change

'We can really change any of our dresses - if you love the lace from one and want it put it onto this gown with a low back and coloured in blue, then we can do it.'

All of Ian's dresses can be adapted to suit you - whether for religious reasons (he creates for many Muslim, Jewish and Church weddings) or for you to feel more comfortable, he's open to your requests.

Predictions

Ian and Peta were in agreement - a return to classic, elegant gowns is on it's way! Timeless looks that are easy to wear and could be from fifty years ago, or available in fifty years time.
