Tuxedo Exhibition: Burlington Arcade

Celebrate 150 years of the iconic British staple...

Is your husband-to-be a suave, suited and booted style maven, never to be seen out of a suit in the face of a crisis, or is he saving his tailoring stripes for his big day? Whatever the answer, he’s sure to love this…

To celebrate 150 years of the iconic, British-born Tuxedo, The Burlington Arcade, a grand 200-year old piazza located in the heart of Mayfair, is hosting the ‘Little Black Jacket’ exhibition. In collaboration with London College of Fashion, it will showcase an exclusive selection of heritage Tuxedo pieces from renowned admirers Frank Sinatra and Truman Capote, alongside inspiring reinterpretations for the 21st century. These modern designs have been created by the crème de la crème of London College of Fashion students under the watchful eye of Henry Poole & Co – the very tailors who invented the Tuxedo on Saville Row all those years ago – so they’re sure to be something special.

If you want to discover more about the history of this very British style icon, pick up W-day style tips and marvel at the forerunners of sophisticated style through chic black and white photography and video shorts, head down to the Burlington Arcade. We’ll take ours shaken, not stirred.

From 10th-22nd September. The Burlington Arcade, London W1J 0PZ.
