On the 17th March the sun came out to shine just as my bridesmaids left for church. Even though I was up for 22 hours the day just flew by and I felt like I was just floating along.
Had the week before off work which was a godsend as I had to get over flu! Spent the end of the week collecting family from the airport, making our table plan, menu cards and place cards. Then friday morning I had some time to myself to get my nails done before collecting my veil as the lady at the dress store had forgotten to put it with my dress and phoned me in a panic to tell me at 9pm on Thursday night. Bless her she also lent me a veil as I was having doubts about the one I had bought. Then we rushed to Church for the rehersal which we giggled our way through. Our flowers were in Church and they looked so beautiful.
Friday evening was spent at the hotel setting up some extra bits for the reception, but I was whisked away at midnight so that I didn't see Hubby on the wedding day before the ceremony.
Woke at 7am at my Mum & Dads which was strange so after showering and drowning myself in my Vera Wang body lotion (present from hubby) it was off to the hairdressers where bridesmaids, friends and salon staff all downed a glass or 2 of fizz.
We were back at my Mums for 11am and the house was full of females, poor Dad had to change into his kilt in the tiny store room!! It was then that the chaos hit, the bridesmaids were running around in panic about getting their make-up done while the flowers arrived, the make-up artist turned up and then 5 mins later the photographer. I was totally overwhelmed by my bouquet it was just perfect, grand prix roses and eryngium with ivy set off with little crystal pins. Then the car arrived and 2 bridesmaids were still not dressed or had put on their make-up. But I was the calm one which was not how I thought it would be, I was offering the driver and photographer cups of tea

Finally the bridesmaids got organised and I gave them their gifts of jewellery (earrings and silver bracelet with burgundy morano glass heart) made sure they had their flowers and waved them off with the photographer in tow as he wasn't sure how to get to the church!!!
With the house calm it was time for me to get dressed. I laddered my hold ups and just thought need nailpolish to stop the run, but not being at my own house I had to borrow my sisters and the first colour I came to was green lol. Mum got me laced into my dress, veil on (went with the one I had originally chosen)
then the car was back for me. Our Driver was so lovely he was telling me that my bridesmaids were in a bit of a flap, tell me something I didn't know.
When we got to Church my sister told us we had to go round the block

Nothing too major it was just because my poor Gran hadn't arrived. So while we waited for Gran to arrive the photographer did his bit and i was able to speak to some people who had turned up to wish us well.
I felt a bit nervous as we walked into Church and the bridal march began, but there were so many special friends and family smiling at me on the way down the aisle that I began to relax and then hubby turned round to look at me and gave me such a big smile. The service was lovely and hubby made me laugh as he shouted "I will" really loudly. It went by in a flash and before I knew it we were married and on our way back up the aisle to the wedding march.
The venue looked stunning and we had so many compliments about all the little extras we had made like the wine glass charms and goodie bags for the little ones. The food was fantastic and so much of it. Hubby forgot to bring his speech and had to make it up, dad also forgot his and made quite a few of us cry with his words, but he forgot to welcome hubby into the family!!!
The whole day went by so very fast and I don't know where the time went, we had our first dance at 10pm which was a bit late but we were just have such a fabulous time. The hotel didn't actually perform the duties of master of ceremonies but the day seemed to flow anyway. I honestly didn't stop smiling all day and it is so true when people say that it's the best day of their lives. When the party was over we continued it in the hotel bar with all our family and friends who were staying over and although I went to bed at 3am I know there were plenty still partying til daylight!!!!
Looking back we can tell there are little bits that didn't go to plan but it didn't matter because everyone seemed to have a great time. We are now back from a wonderful week in Dominican Republic and were suprised to be told that the chair cover supplier wants to buy the bay trees that I decorated and also my goldfish bowl centrepieces, I will take that as a huge compliment as he must of thought the room looked as good as we thought.
To all brides to be - enjoy your own very special day and I hope it will be all you dream of x x
Sorry for rambling on but trust me that was the edited version
