I just had a look at your venue - it looks beautiful, so romantic! I love how you can have cannapes on a gondola boat!

I did see we had our own place but didn't want to be the first to post lol! Great idea though. Will have a gander at both your venues tomorrow. I know my venue is not to everyone's taste but me and my fianc???? were just wowed by it the first time we saw it. As our first choice before was Peckforton castle and nothing could beat it. But On the 1st viewing of Weston I just knew I didn't feel the same about the castle but needed to know how my other half felt so went to castle on the same day and we just knew our now venue was the one.

Where did you meet? I went to a gig to meet another guy (the drummer) preferred the guitarist unfortunately he didn't notice me so forgot about him for 2 months. A classmate decided to talk to him on myspace via my comments that I thought he was gorgeous (she didn't come the gig) I got irritated so also got in contact (luckily only lived 4 miles away) as neither could drive at the time he walked to mine one night and the rest is history.
When did you get engaged? Officially 25th September 2010 (same as you bethaniee1)
How did he propose? Asked me in Malaysia if I wanted a ring, bought it July 2010 but had to wait for him to ask my parents permission then got took out for a nice meal on the Friday but he actually proposed the day after in his room after he cooked me my fav meal - not exactly how i envisioned but lovely nevertheless.

Have a had a look at a few of the venues mentioned but unfortunately meldrum house doesn't want to fully load on my phone so next time I'm on a computer will look again! Belmount hall and roadford lake are stunning, definitely my cup of tea. We probably would have preferred a similar style to them but ours was determined on having plenty of rooms for guests plus didn't find anywhere like that with enough accommodation near me.

St Elias gardens looks lovely too if ive looked at the right place . I'm jealous that youll most definitely have nice weather where as here I guess it's hit or miss in may. We did think about going abroad but worried our extended family and friends wouldn't pay to come.

I'm the same Steph, I just want to book everything now but unfortunately can't magic deposits out of nowhere. Also my mum is getting annoyed with all the wedding talk cuz she says we have ages but she a bit contradictory cuz everytime I speak on the phone she's the one who brings something up!

Mae, I know exactly what you mean about Mothers who don't want to talk about but then keep bringing it up, mine keep going through waves of excitment and ideas and wants to book everything then the next day it's nothing!
We have booked our registrar so we are know we are getting married at 2 'o'clock, and we know when we can give our notice. And we now know which photographer we are going to use so after getting paid we are sending them the deposit! Whoop!

Planning so far... Well, it's all very knew so are awaiting the final quote from the venue! Bridesmaids chosen, colour scheme of yellow and orange has been chosen!

Congrats on the recent engagement. My colour scheme also includes orange thinking of teaming it with ivory. When I tell people I want bright orange they think I'm a bit loopy but it was one of few colours my partner would agree on and I thought it would be a nice spring colour.

This will be my second marriage and I am SOOOOOO much more excited this time around. Ours is a long distance relationship and we can't get together full time for another two years for work and family reasons. However, I'm glad I've got all this time to enjoy the preparations and get everything spot on.

Derwent Photography based in Keswick. They were recommended by the staff at Augill (did their website photos)

I came home to find him down on one knee in the hallway holding out a box containing the most beautiful ring. Cried my eyes out and obviously said yes. It was a total suprise!The ring was amazing but way to big! I dont wear jewellery so he had to guess at the size. After trying nearly every jewellers in Teesside, it was evident that re-sizing it was impossible. I was gutted. However, the lovely American lady arranged for us to send it back and for the designer to make me a custom sized one for my titchy fingers!Was so relieved!
