Sooo its a Saturday night, my hubby is at work my little girl is in bed, and im sat here watching rubbish. Then it occured to me what I could do - finally write my wedding report!!
So Ive opened up a bottle of the good stuff to share with er... well myself! And I shall hopefully entertain some of you with my story.
I enjoyed reading these in the past and got loads of ideas from them to (and also got very giddy thinking this will be me one day) . So as I write, I will pass on any hints and tips that I remember and also (if I remember how to!) add lots and lots of pictures!

How we met

It was February 2008 and I was a 23year old party animal!

I had a random few years prior to this, worked abroad as a holiday rep for a few years, came back settled down with a boy, got a mortgage (eeek BIG mistake!) turned old before my age for 2 years, lost 2 grandparent within a few months of each other which made me realise life was to short to be with the wrong person. Left the boy and moved out of our house, turned into a raver where I didnt sleep all weekend, was slightly promiscous...ahem! But was also having the time of my life!! I had a very stressful job mon - thurs as a manager of a childrens nursery, so definately made up for it thurs - sun by spending it shit faced haha.

Soooo January came was feeling particually shitty after a hazy christmas, felt rubbish about myself and was drowning in debt (still had the house and debt with the ex)and decided to do something about it. Thats it I thought! NO MORE BOYS AND SPENDING, time to get me some self respect!!

So I deleted all the boys numbers out of my phone,I stayed in a few weekends got loads of girly dvds, started eating properly and made an appointment with the citizens advice with regards to my debt. Yep I was on the road to recovery!! Then one night I was messing about on facebook, when some one sent me a request for an application called zoosh. I added it, it was like a dating site but full of hotties haha. And there he was my lil bronzed god (well to me anyway)

We saw each other a few times a week, as he lived 50 minutes drive away (and I didnt have a car) I was renting a room from my cousin so didnt have much space, and hubby lived at home with his parents.

The Big Move

After a month of seeing each other, I found myself a little one bedroomed cottage to rent (I missed my independance) Well the day of the move was very significant to me, as this was the day when I realised I loved him

Well anything that could of gone wrong that day DID go wrong!! We borrowed a van, it was REALLY old and big, well it didnt fit up the street of the house I was moving out of, so had to park at the bottom which was a very busy main road in a loading bay only space.

It poured it down!

Every tom, dick and harry saw my worldly possesions ops:

Finally loaded the van (and avoided the traffic warden) and the van wouldnt start ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!

Spent an hour trying to find the engine etc *please note if your in an old van and it breaks down, you may find the engine in the floor??!! wtf!*

It was at this point we realised we had a flat battery!! Anyway an hour, borrow of a car and a jump start later we were on our way FINALLY. I was a complete and utter witch the whole of the day. Just a HUUUUGGGEEE grump, anyone who knows me, knows what Im like for my nails, hair and make up being done and at this point I looked like a drowned rat AND i broke some nails grrrr.

So we got to my new cottage, spent an hour unloading everything, then Hubby sent me upstairs to sort out my walk in wardrobe eeeeeeek I was then in heaven! I came down a few hours later after sorting out my new bedroom and having a hot shower and de stressing out, to my hubby cooking home made meatballs, he passed me a glass of rose, and took me into the front room, he had set out the room (as best he could) he had lit candles, put up a sheet at the window (I hadnt bought curtains yet) and he had even bobbed to asda to get the food wine and an arial for the tv - I had stressed about that earlier! Thats it I realised I had found the man I was to spend the rest of my life with

2008

The rest of 2008 went good with a few ups and downs, hubby put in for a transfer at work, I had calmed down on my going out, I sorted out my debt, things were good. Then in August 2008 I was made redundant at work, the nursery was closing down. BUT at the same time hubbys transfer came through and we made the big step forward of him moving in with me. They say everything happens for a reason and I am a massive believer in this. Within 2 weeks I had found myself another job, it wasnt a management position, but a jobs a job. We went on holiday (our first!) and it was on holiday when we took the decision to start a family. We came back off holiday to find a letter from the fire service to say hubby had been successful in his interviews eeek I was soooo proud - its all he has ever wanted to do. I aslo chucked my contraceptive pills away and we started trying for a baby

And in December 2009, My gorgeous man got down on one knee eeeeek!!

The proposal

Well unfortunately this was the year that my hubby had to work chritmas eve, day and boxing day boooo. So we decided to have our own Christmas eve, day and boxing day - just a few days earlier.

Christmas day comes and I see a present under the tree with a little tag saying 'leave me till last' BUT the present was squishy and soft not hard like a ring box

It turned out my little squishy present was a pair of gloves at this point I was ready to cry, (we had already spoke of marriage and knew we were going to do it we had even looked around venues and I had even showed him a ring I liked BUT i had no ring and hadnt actually been asked!)
So I looked at hubby with masses of disapointment I thought it was a cruel joke, then hubby told mr to put them on - which I did, and the ring finger of the left hand of the glove had been cut off - mega confused I just looked up at hubby to see him knelt down on one knee with a ring box.and he said he had something to keep my finger warm!! EEEEEEK IT FINALLY HAPPENED!! And it was the ring that I wanted.

2010 - The wedding planning year

Ive got to admit Im an organisational freak, I planned our wedding to a t. And I really felt it showed, nothing went wrong, and on the day I was as cool as a cucumber. My hubby is very very laid back and I am the complete opposite, this is why were soooo fab together. I was in my element planning and actually feel a little lost now its over

The hubby let me plan everything so I did take complete charge of everything, but he was very happy with this. Every now and then I would just sit him down and go through what I had organised.

I never wanted to have an expensive wedding, Im a bargin hunter, and certainly never wanted to get into debt for one day (see I learnt my lesson haha) I like to think of myself as a poor mans WAG lol I love the whole nails, make up, hair extensions, lashes, tan look. Not for everyone I know but as a beauty therapist (I retrained) I love glam

So we bugeted £8,000 not including honeymoon (we decided it wasnt a necessity) We actually stuck to our budget, and even booked a honeymoon after we got wed as both sets of parents gave us nice cheques towards this.

And to be honset I had everything I wanted, so even though its a small budget I never actually felt we cut back on anything.
Just shows you can have the wedding of your dreams on a small budget

Eaves Hall in Clitheroe Lancashire

We decided we wanted a small intimate wedding. So including ourseves there were only 42 present and our dughter for the day do. We had decided on no children also during the day, this caused a bit of upset with certain members of the family, but the way I see it, is we were funding it therefore we choose who was going to come. I would say its best just to be firm if any one else is going through a similar problem.
The evening reception we invited about an extra 80 people and there was about 50 - 60 who came. Unfortunately as it was the week before christmas and about a 30 minute drive from where we live, there was quite a few rsvps that stated people wouldnt be attending for various resons. At first it really affected me especially the last couple of weeks leading up to the wedding, but then I realised that if people couldnt be bothered making an effort, then they certainly werent worth stressing about at what was supposed to be a special time. And after that something clicked, and I chilled out and went with the thought that if somethings going to go wrong - let it. As long as me and hubby were there along with the registrar then it will be fine - and it really was
