Hi ladies, I was hoping for some advice - if your venue has a very high ceiling, how are you planning to decorate it? We're having our reception at Pitville Pump Room in Gloucestershire next year and we're currently thinking about how we can dress it and incorporate our theme. We've chosen a navy and raspberry colour scheme, which is a mix of preppy/shabby chic styles. Any suggestions would be most welcome! Thank you!

Hi there

We have the same dilemma and little budget! I've decided to use paper pompoms having seen them used somewhere else and they looked great. You can make them yourself, or if you look on ebay you can find them very reasonably (less than £1 each depending on size) and then all you need to do is fluff them up. We're going to hang them in groups of three at slightly different heights and mix up the colours of our wedding.

Hope this helps

We have a fairly large ceiling too, in quite a plain venue so are going for white paper lanterns over the tables, something like this, although a bit larger and at different heights. Due to the expense of actually lighting them we are just going to have the venue's pinspots pointed at them, which will hopefully bounce off and they'll be bright little pops of white against the dark ceiling.
