My H2B and I are both really keen for our wedding to have a informal / fun feel to it... so thought it would be fun to hear what other different/fun things people have planned for there weddings? A couple of ideas we have had:

- quiz to complete on tables at wedding breakfast, with some gen qs and qs about us (also our table numbers are special places to us and we are going to have centre pieces explaining why - so thought some of the questions could ask stuff that might be on another peoples tables)
- treasure trail for the children during the photos and drink reception
- games room with lots of games in?

I would love to hear other peoples ideas????

(ive edited this post cus realised twas a bit confusing! ops:

Hi,

Don't mean to sound like a party pooper or anything, but I don't think board games are a good idea. They take up too much time, consentration etc.

You need to remenber the guests are expecting to spend time with you. What about games that are fun for other people to watch, like giant Twister. After a few drinks, there's nothing funnier than people in all their finery get in daft positions on the floor! lol

Try not to go over-board on what will be 'fun' for other people. It your and h2b's day, it needs to center around the pair of you.

The quiz and place cards sound great. I just think that if you want games, then it needs to be something that everyone can join in with - either partispiating or watching.

Sounds like a fun day though, hope I haven't offended you, good luck with what ever you chose.

ours was only small and we had no disco, so we decided to get some sky lanterns for each couple to let of.

We are having an 18ft adult bouncy castle, space hoppers, giant jenga and giant connect four to add a bit more of a light hearted feel to the evening festivities! I think H2B is more excited about the bouncy castle than the wedding!

We are also having a 'adulot' bouncy castle and slide! for the groom and his mates! lol and we are having sparklers and fireworks! xxx

In our favour boxes we are having 2 Thornton's chocolate hearts and in between the chocolates we have placed Love and Marriage quotes. Hopefully people will read them out across the tables and encourage conversations, we are hoping to hear lots of Awwwwwwwwww's.

I got them from the internet. I thought I had saved the document that I copied them to but I can't find it. Most of them came from here.

I suppose that what I had in mind was that at christmas when you open the crackers you read the jokes out to everyone. We have mixed friends and family up on tables so it will encourage people to talk to each other. Only 12 days to wait to find out how it goes.

Wow! They all sound great. we are having a little bouncy castle for the children - Though I think I may get on it too! A bubble machine again for the kiddies. We are having table trivia for the adults but not much else in the way of fun... maybe need to look at that! Can I ask what may be a stupid question.. what are sky lanterns?

There are some fab ideas here!

Were having magicians who are laurel and hardy look a likes! They will do some slap stick comedy and close up magic to enteratin the guests during the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast! Weve not told anyone that we have them coming so its gonna be a surprise on the day! im dead excited!

to get our guests more involved, we are asking each guest to send up a balloon (instead of sky lanterns) in our colour theme - these will be in memory of those who aren't with us anymore & are also great for photos!!! xx

My friend had a giant colouring in painting made for her wedding. We all got to colour it in with paint pens and made a piece of art. It was totally personalised and really well made. It was such a talking point and got everyone chatting. They now have the finished product up in their living room. Definitely the most unique fun thing I've seen at a wedding so far!

Photobooths are always fun but they seem to be at every wedding now. Garden games are fun too if you get the weather for it!

Go for a dress-up box near the corner of the dancefloor. Silly wigs, glasses and masks etc.

Really funny and all our guests got into the spirit and partied with them!
