Good Morning Ladies,

I'm Wondering if you can help me. We are thinking of having a Mad Hatter/Alice In W/Land Themed wedding but not too sure about how to achieve it!!! Can any of you help? The more outrageous the better!! I just have no idea how to get it all as a running theme throught the flowers, favours and table decor.

I would appreciate any advice!

I'm sure I've seen something in a wedding magazine with the Alice in Wonderland theme. I'll see if I can dig it out for you tonight if that would be helpful?

buy some little bottles with corks from ikea, they're about 50p each and write 'drink me' on a piece of paper inside them and give them as favours!

Just thought, you could use a large teacup or teapot filled with flowers (stocks would work really well) for your centrepieces. You could use all sorts of vintage looking teacups and saucers and serve different teas with dinner?

Just a thought

ooooh good theme!

You could incorporate playing cards into the place cards/table plan.

If you have flower girls or page boys you could give them white rabbits as gifts?

Jam tarts as favours?

One of the big magazines definitely did this recently...think it was the last issue of Brides. It looked really lovely!

i saw some really large tea cups and saucers at a service station recently, they were plant holders but would work great as a centrepiece

My aunt did this for her 2nd wedding a while back and it was great. They hired entertainers who were all dressed up, we played giant chess in the garden (all over sized games would work!) I think there were rose bushes everywhere and the bride and groom changed for the evening reception into fancy dress!!

P.S. This would be a fab style cake for the 'Tea Party'

i had this theme for my wedding in August.

We had mismatched cups and saucers, 'drink me' labels on all the wine bottles. we had giant games, 'tea' cocktails, giant flowers, colour colour colour!!

Our centre pieces were teapots with flowers in on little grass squares and sugar mice.
For entertainment we had flamenco dancers (my aunt organised this, and it fitted in well with the whole 'anything goes'
i will post some pics

feeless those pics are amazing! i love your wedding stationary, where did you get those or did you do them yourself?

25/02/2009 at 15:47
we did them ourselves! my friend is an amazing artist and used the original drawings and adapted them a tiny wee bit. we wanted them to look like a story book and the effect worked really well!

this was such a fun and fresh theme that i really encourage you to do it!!

I dont know what you budget is but there is an amazing pop hire place down south but they travel to Scotland as i enquired. We only had a wee budget (did whole thing for £4k) here is the link
