Hi..
We are getting married at Wynyard in the June. Its the perfect place for a band in the conservatory, isnt it?
We have booked Jason Issacs for the night time.We had seen him at the wedding fayre and though he would apeal to most people. My friends sister had him at her wedding at wynyard and they said he was great an d because he has been at venue a few times i feel at least he knows staff and set up etc. My hubby would of rather had a band more to our taste but i wanted somethibg that everyone would enjoy and Jason seems to work his charm with the ladies to hopefully that will get them all up dancing. Little tip though we got him down £250 on his orignal quote just by being cheeky and asking for less

Thanks FutureMrsharriman I'll have a look at him and thanks for the tip! I've not booked much really.
The dress - Trudy Lee
Bridesmaid dresses - forever yours
Entertainment for between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast - Paul Slattery caricaturist and wedding singer Steve Walls - got decent discount on both of these
Photographer - Dave Yates from Richmond

Thats all at the moment can't decide on cars or flowers! How about you what else have you got booked?

Wynyard is an amazing venue isn't it? And your right the conservatory is a great place for live music - at the wedding fayre earlier in the year I just wanted to dance!

who else have you booked for things so far ?

Hi ladies how are you all.
I used to come on YAYW all the time before I got wed in May. There used to be a Cleveland Brides forum but I can't seem find it!!!

I got married at Wynyard and it was absolutely amazing. We had a band and a dj on the night. We used The Funktion, a Motown and soul band, do a bit of the old stuff and the likes of Amy Winehouse, JK, Ce lo Green. Dance floor was full all night.

Anyhow hope all your planning is coming along nicely, if you need any advice just ask. I once was Bridezilla lol

Hi Karen02Blue,

Glad your wedding was fab! Seems ages til ours. I do have a question actually! Since booking, Wynyard have introduced drinks packages - do you have to take one of these and also what happens if there is loads of wine leftover!?
Also did you have your make up done in the alon there at all? Have been wondering whether to have mine done there but not sure. Thanks, in advance,

Oh aswel i got our bridesmaid dreses from TK Maxx when the new one in Metro Centre opened, there the same style as what is in my profile pic, they are perfect and a bargin, i guess i was lucky because they got all the good things when they 1st opened last year so i went mad and got all 4 dresses, 2flower girl dresses, sweetie jars for sweetie table and photo frames for table plan.....

Im trying to hire "Giant Graden Games" for the kids but everywhere i enquire are asking daft prices...

Aswel have you found that if they ask the venue before quoting price, that they think 'oh its wynyard so we will charge them a bit more' My friend had some suppliers for her wedding that charged her less than what they quoted me for the same things!

Hope all your plans are going well....

Hi ladies,

I was wondering if any of you could help me with cars. Do you have any recommendations? I went to one company and they were quite rude and kept slagging off other companies in the area
I'm looking for a beauford as I really like this style. The quote I was given for 2 cars was £600 and was wondering if this is similar to quotes you have been given?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

This sounds very like somewhere I went- to look at a beauford too! Was it in Washington by any chance? I still haven't found one reasonably priced yet so can't be any help! I'll let you know if I find anything.
I'm also having my reception at the same place as you! Mine is on 10th august.

Hi All

I think im nearly there, booked everything apart from a videographer! Does anyone have any recommendations locally?

I really only have a budget of £450-500 for this, will that be enough to get some good coverage?

I know very little about this so any recommendations or feedback would be really helpful!

Thank you x

Hey jarrow!

My h2b studied tv and radio production at uni and did lots of filming for local scout things he is involved in so when we were looking at local videographers he was very picky - we ended ip going with premier imaging in Darlington but it's £850 for their package which covers all day

You could ask if they will tailor make a package for you

Failing that I think we looked at 2 other string competitors can't remember their names though I think one was called outback and one either one media or digital media

MrsMike2b Im sure you don't have to have the drink packages if you don't want them. They had been introduced when i had my wedding although i did see them. I priced it up and It works out pretty much them same cost wise.
I didn't actually use the salon as Wynyard for make-up as I'm not a huge fan of Bare Minerals.
I had a lady called Kay from the Estee Lauder counter in Binns, Middelsbrough. She lovely and it only cost £30. I had to go for a trial at the shop and then she came out on the morning. BM are cheaper think that was £15 or £20.

SoontoMrsVC
Awwww i hope you like the Funktion. We loved them. Such lovely lads

Farrow we used Total Memories. I know they do different packages. We LOVED our video, I cried just watching the best bits and all the guests raved about how nice Anthony and his wife were on the day.

I'll second the Estee Lauder counter in Binns Middlesbrough I was just passing and got talking to the lady and she did my makeup for me for free and it looked lovely. I'm definitely considering using them for my makeup. I hate makeup counters I always find them really daunting but she was lovely!

I'll let you know karen02blue we are seeing them on Saturday

Hi Kaelao,

It was. I came across them on a website and having been to dainty supplies for some things, I went to have a look. Although their cars are lush, I was put off immediately by the way they went on. I asked the woman if my date was free and she disappeared for 10 minutes and when she came back down she started telling me about the photography package they offered despite me telling them I already booked photography. They asked who it was then said "they're crap, just part timers"!! I walked away very quickly and very annoyed.

Anyway, have a look at Blue Eagle Wedding Cars - I got a quote for a 2 seat beauford for £220 and a 7 seat daimler for £150 and if you want both cars it costs £350. So almost half the price of that other place. I haven't been to see the cars yet but from the map they actually look like they are close to Elephant on the Tyne too.

Charmaine at the Elephant is lovely isn't she? I asked her about getting ready there instead of at home and she said I could and they would keep a room free for me from 7am. She was one of the reasons I booked there.

Hi Kayleigh

yeah she's great. I was a bit worried tho when she said I didn't need to go back until a month before to sort everything as I feel I can't pick colours for dresses etc until I know what I'm having for centre pieces. ALso I don't think they have what I want! She's seeing me next week tho so hopefully she'll sort me out lol.

I might see about getting ready there actually as my house is tiny, not sure where I'm going to get into dress!

Have you seen centre pieces and stuff?

Not yet but she said she had loads of things I could use. I've seen the candelabras and they were gorgeous. I mentioned last time I was there, that I wanted fishbowls and she said she could do them but they wouldn't have the wow factor as they are small. She recommended tall martini glasses. She said I could have lights, those gel stone things, flowers, feathers etc if I wanted. My theme is black and white and she said she could accommodate that no problem.

From what she said, they would match your scheme and work around it. I'm going to have a black entrance carpet instead of the red. She said I could have real candles too. And she said she would do white chair covers with black sashes, white and black flowers with hints of silver in the centrepieces. So I'd just ask. I started the planagram bout 2 weeks ago and she said I needed to go back when I knew how many guests I was having so we could plan menu etc.

I would choose your colours and then tell her what you want. That's what I did. Have you looked on their facebook page, there are some pics of parties etc there (no weddings) but hen dos and christenings, might give you an idea of what stuff they have.
