Hello,

Can you help me choose please? I am not a fan of strapless dresses generally and would probably feel more comfortable having the seamstress sew the straps in, but do you think it ruins the look of the dress at all, or that it looks much better strapless?

Stunning dress. I like the straps myself xx

I think they both look stunning, the straps certainly don't spoil the dress.
I;m also having straps fitted to my dress, although (maybe an idea) I'm having mine "halter-neck" style, and I actually think it improves my dress....so you might want to try that..

by the way your dress is gorgeous.

I'm being greedy and also having a halter done but I think I've ruled that out, it doesn't really suit my shoulders

Thank you very much for your kind comments everyone!

They are both nice, but personally prefer the strapless look, just think it looks sleeker (not sure that's the right word but can't think of a better one!).

Is it just that you don't like the look or not used to wearing them? the seamstress will make it fit well so its comfortable to move in etc...

stick with what you feel comfortable in though, you don't want to be tugging at the dress or worrying all day x

Thank you!

No, nothing to do with thinking I'll tug at the dress or worrying it's going to fall down (it's that tight it's not going anywhere, strapless or not!!)

It's just his first wife wore strapless when they got married and a lot of my friends have done too... I'd like to be a bit different.

I should add, my bridesmaid is having a dress with similar straps, so it would fit in with her too (although I know that's the wrong way round and she should fit in with me but you know what I mean!!)

Gorgeous dress and it looks good either way x

not really seeing the point in the straps BUT they do help to break up the block of shoulders..... it's a hard on

I think the straps make it look more elegant.

i like the straps too, plus you're right, everyone wears strapless nowadays (I am!)

I like it without the straps....would look great with lovely jewellery. Personally though, I feel uncomfortable in strapless things because I always feel like I want to pull them up all the time! Looks great on you though.

I like the straps, I prefer something not strapless tbh every dress seems to be strapless and it makes it a bit different

If you want straps, but are umming and ahhing what about different style of straps. I was going to add little cap beaded organza sleeves to one of the dresses I tried on, or what about a one shoulder strap.

I am not a fan of strapless either, however it does look good on you. I am having a one shoulder (same reasons, SIL, best friend, other friend all had strapless and I want to be different), although am not a fan of spaghetti straps. Have a look at different styles of 'strapped' dresses to get inspiration, as they can add most styles to any dress.

Also halternecks are a preference, I dont personally like them.

However, if you think you will match your bridesmaids and you like spaghetti straps then I say 'Go with the straps'. xx

I think it looks better with straps

Ithink the dress looks nice either way, probably without straps but only because they don't seem to really add anything to the look of the dress.
I was going to say maybe a one strap, you could add some detail like the sparkle from the dress to the straps to make it look a bit different. I've seen some really pretty one strap dresses.

Better with the straps in my opinion. Like you say it just makes it a little bit different which I like. x

I usually prefer no straps, but I actually think I prefer the straps on you. Lovely dress!

"...yours is a fairytale."

I think it looks lovely with the straps. I'm not really a fan of strapless dresses, they don't suit me and also lot of dresses seem to be strapless. I think it's nice to be a little different.
