So I've been doing my sums today and I really need to try and get a dress for under £400! Are there any designers/brands that are known for being more affordable?

I've looked at high street dresses too but any other suggestions much appreciated! Wedding is not until April 2013 but thought I'd best start looking... xx

Have you thought about 2nd hand? If so try sellmyweddingdress or pre loved.

Go try on dresses find the ones you like and then hope they come up on the site in your size. Good luck

My dress was a sample for about £340 (or £240 - I can't remember now!). Most shops I went in had samples for £200-£500, especially when they aren't big names.

Have a look for shops that have a variety of well known, and lesser known brands, then there is more chanced of getting a bargain.

Also set a saved search on eBay in your size.. I have done this and there are some mega bargains to be had. A lot of bridal shops sell their samples on eBay. You can easily get a nice brand new designer dress for under 400 x

Where in the UK are you? My dress was £4000 from an outlet store - they have 1000's of dresses at that price as well.

Try looking at bridesmaids dresses. All good designers make them in white or ivory and they are so gorgeous with the same quality of a bridal gown. Mine is a bridesmaid dress from Roanld Joyce in ivory and its stunning and such good value at only £300 xxxxx
