Hello everyone,
I am a bridesmaid for a wedding in September this year, and unfortunately the venue has fallen through

Mainly due to a changed financial situation, the bride is now searching for a new venue in North Wales, and.....

wait for it......

The budget is only about £2,000 all in - food and all. There are around 50 day guests and 100 evening guests. It sounds impossible, but then again, this is the girl who managed to buy a beautiful wedding dress for £250!!!

However, it is a long shot....

So I throw myself on the mercy of the clever youandyourwedding girls....Does anybody know of anywhere that is reasonably priced but not just a pub at the side of the road?!

All suggestions appreciated!

We're marrying in hendre hall near Bangor, we've paid £1000 for venue hire and staff to sort it all out for us, we're bringing in our own catering and using a lady called Einir from country taste catering in colwyn bay, we're having 140 in the day and offering a hot buffet with choices of meals like chilli and jacket, curry and rice, sausage n mash etc, plus a cupcake per person and then butties and wraps for 180 for evening, whole lot costing around 2k so with smaller numbers I'm sure she'd be able to help? Good luck! Corrina x

Hi, if a religious ceremony is OK, then how about a village church and hall? I considered the one in our village up the road in mynydd llandygai, above Bethesda kind of in the hills. Its got nice views and its recently been completely redecorated. Its a blank canvass anyway, and I think it would cost something like £300. http://plasnant.com/mynydd/facilities/main-hall/ - The only downside I could find was that the party has to finish by 11pm ( because of local elderly residents.

We've ended up going to Nant Gwrtheyrn on the Llyn - which is stunningly beautiful, but perhaps a little out of the budget, unless you get married through the week? Its still quite reasonable though. Both can be found on the internet though, if anything I've said sounds interesting )

Good luck!!

My friend got married in the Kinmel Manor 2 years ago and paid £1,500 for 60 day guests and around 80 night guests!
Its a lovely venue and so reasonable!

Have you enquired about Bangor University? They have just officially launched weddings and their different rooms are all stunning and at very reasonable prices. My friend recently went for a viewing and was blown away! If you email weddings@bangor.ac.uk and ask for a brochure. I think their availability is reasonable at the moment too as it's still relatively newly marketed. Worth a try!x

Eternally grateful to any North Wales brides who could fill out a quick 5min survey on the wedding industry in North Wales for my dissertation...

You'd be helping a very stressed student out more than you would believe!
