Shopping is the national pastime (as well as karaoke) and it would be a shame to miss out. Head to Shibuya, the vibrant centre of youth-culture that has swept Asia and the world, to check out the next big thing, from trainers to robots. Or go to ever-changing Harajuku to grab the latest from some of Japan\'s top designers. The posh place to shop is Ginza - the Fiftth Avenue of Tokyo - boasting big brands like Chanel and Gucci interspersed with charming Japanese teahouses. Take a trip to the top of the Tokyo Tower for views of snow-capped Mount Fuji and enjoy a look back as well as forward at the intricately carved Asakusa Temple or Imperial Palace at Marunouchi, the spiritual centre of Tokyo, where you can walk in the Imperial Park.
