Congratulations are in order for 16 very lucky brides-to-be; they’ve just found out they’ve won their wedding on one of the 16 paradise islands of The Bahamas!

The Bahamas 16 Islands Wedding Invitation gave 16 couples the chance to marry on one of the 16 dream destination islands of The Bahamas on 16 May 2012.

From a barefoot beach ceremony at sunset to saying ‘I do’ on the ocean floor with dolphins gliding by, each amazing Bahamas big-day promised unforgettable wow-factor. So it’s no surprise the competition was fierce, and the winners battled it out with 255 other couples who wanted to tie the knot on one of these idyllic Caribbean islands.

Brides-and-grooms-to-be uploaded snapshots and videos explaining why they deserved to win their wedding, and the public got busy voting for their favourite. The entries were then judged by a panel of experts including Y&YW’s editor Miranda Eason.

“We are so thrilled to be finally getting married," said bride-to-be Adele who won the chance to marry her partner John at the Augustinian cloister at the One&Only Ocean Club on Paradise Island. “The fact that we are going to be doing so in such a beautiful location with our closest family and friends is just amazing.” Take a look at the brilliant video that won them their wedding here.

As well as a unique island wedding ceremony, the prize also included flights and accommodation for two witnesses, a wedding dress from the Tia range by Benjamin Roberts and wedding rings up to the value of £500 courtesy of Goldsmiths.
