With the excitement surrounding the first royal wedding of 2011, it\'s no surprise we couldn\'t wait for the second to get underway! Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall said \'I do\' on 30 July in Edinburgh’s Canongate Kirk – the parish church of the Palace of Holyroodhouse. So to celebrate we’ve rounded up five of our favourite romantic city hotspots (with a little royal inspiration) to help you plan your own loved-up mini break.

Bar Missoni at the Hotel Missoni, Edinburgh
No doubt Edinburgh’s vibrant Hotel Missoni will appeal to Zara’s eclectic fashion tastes – she’s already well known for her bold use of colour at royal engagements. Statement suites in zingy shades of fuchsia, aqua and lime feature panoramic views of the city skyline and snuggly Missoni bathrobes, while Bar Missoni is a cool, cosmopolitan hangout serving Italian-style signature cocktails. The Witchery by the Castle, Edinburgh
As its deeply Gothic name suggests, The Witchery by the Castle isn’t your usual city restaurant. Oozing romance, charm and enough nooks and crannies to live up to its more than 400-year-old history, this fine-dining restaurant serves Franco-Scottish food like pig cheek terrine and saddle of venison. Old-fashioned royal-ites should take their evening supper by candlelight in either the Secret Garden or the richly draped and downright romantic Witchery itself. There are also seven decadent, velvet-strewn suites to book if – like Zara and Mike – you might want to hide away from the crowded streets outside.

The Queen’s official residence in Scotland, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, which stands at the end of the Royal Mile, was host to Zara and Mike\'s wedding reception. You can visit the Queen\'s Gallery and linger of the collection of precious paintings and artifacts.
