Well, 3 weeks after getting engaged and I finally feel as though everything is starting to move along. We have decided to not have a daytime reception and merely to opt for an evening reception so we checked out their availablity and luckily they are available for our date. Need to call them today and see if I can make a provisional booking as I have just made a provisional booking with the register office.
Was panicking a bit about our guest list as OH has a large family and the maximum number allowed at the register office is 70 which is a lot less than we hoped. Had a good chat with my mum on Saturday though and she totally surprised me by stating that the most important people to be at our wedding are our friends. Family are people you are obligated to invite. I was so shocked that she would see things that way and now do not feel bad about not inviting my stepbrothers, and both of our cousins.
So I'm now desperately excited for OH to ring from work so I can tell him.
