Brides Maid-up at the Halkin! Last week I was invited to try out this new bridal package at the Halkin hotel (halkin.como.bz). It’s the perfect hen get-together and the city hotel also features a lovely Thai restaurant called Nahm (of chef David Thompson fame) – a great place to meet your partner’s parents. Just hope they like spicy food!
We sipped pomegranate champagne cocktails and ate gorgeous Thai canapés. I was very impressed with the way Nikki Munro from Urban Retreat at Harrods (www.urbanretreat.co.uk) did my nails. The treatment is called the ‘Immaculate Manicure’. She was quick and good.
The package, from £255 per person based on two people sharing a twin deluxe room, is designed for a sophisticated bride who wants to celebrate her prenuptials in style with a group of friends. The session happens in one of the hotel suites and the beauty partner ‘Urban Retreat’ at Harrods have created a tailor-made three-hour beauty programme. (You’ll need to hop down the road to Knightsbridge for this).
You and your friends will spend two hours with experts from Laura Mericer (www.lauramercier.com) or Daniel Sandler (www.danielsandler.com) for a make-up masterclass, including Champagne and then an hour for that ‘Immaculate Manicure’ I was telling you about.
Please contact Vanessa Boow at Harrods Urban Retreat in order to confirm your preferred times, at least seven days in advance or your arrival date. Please call 020 7659 9720 Monday to Friday during office hours or email Vanessa.Boow@urbanretreat.co.uk. The makeup class can accommodate up to six people in your group. The immaculate manicure is an individual appointment. The team at Harrods Urban Retreat will be able to discuss any additional requirements that you may have, or wish to add to the programme.
On departure, each guest will receive a goodie bag. Once back at the hotel, you’ll enjoy a private champagne reception in your suite with a selection of Thai canapés from Nahm before hitting the town. A late check-out is then organised for the morning after along with a healthy breakfast.
