Grrrr Shops!!!!

Eurgh,i just had a horrible time in a bridal shop today!
They looked at me like i was faking a wedding or too poor to be there. they asked a whole bunch of silly questions, and made weird comments. They asked when the big day was,and i told them 25th of October, and the woman said "Oh thats good,i thought you were going to say the twentyfifth of this month" NO! Why would i do that?
I said i was only in to have a little look at bridesmaids dresses as i was only shopping with one of my four (one has a new baby and the other two are 15 yr old neices to be) I told them the basic style i wanted and that it needed to be light pink, and they said it would be like Jordons wedding...no! I will be in ivory.
They said i was a little young to get married and tried to say that i needed to keep in my budget,at that i left as i am perfectly aware of what i can and cant spend!!
i just needed a rant!

Grrrr Shops!!!!

Completely agree with you. I am a "bigger" bride and made a point of mentioning this when I booked appointments as I didnt see the point of going somewhere that couldn't help me. I went to Berketex Brides and was handed one dress (which I hated) and was told it iwas the only one I could try on as thet othere were all too small. I thne had to parade about the shop in y underwear while the asistants held yup smaller dresses against me to "give me the general idea"!!!! Such a difference from the shop I ended up getting my dreess fom, they were able to pin me into dresses I could ACTUALLY see what they looked like and the sales assistants were full of positive comments. I got mine from 2Have & 2Hold in Kidderminster as they were amazing!

Grrrr Shops!!!!

Same here... I walked into my first bridal shop and in the general chitchat I had with the assistant whilst making an appointment for Easter I asked about their price ranges. She quoted £500.00 upwards and carried on making the appointment until I happened to mention that I would be looking for a dress at the cheaper end of the range. She very swiftly closed the appointment diary, passed me a copy of their business card and suggested I look at their website before calling back to make an appointment. Needless to say I won't be going back there again! x

Grrrr Shops!!!!

i cant believe how rude some shop assistants can be how do they ever make any money!
i went to a wedding dress shop a few months ago when i walked in the first thing she asked was how much i was spending which i told her upto £700 she then told me not to look to the left hand side of the shop because those dresses started at £1500 so i went through the rack of dresses that were in my 'budget' picked up a few as i was trying them on she hardly spoke to me all she wanted to do was get the dresses on and off!
at the same time there was another woman trying dresses on from the shall we say 'bigger budget' side! at one point i went infront of the mirror and after being there for about 5 seconds they told me to move so that this other woman could look just because someones not spending over £2000 on a dress dont mean they should be treated any differently!
i couldnt wait to get out there!but it goes to show what being nice can do i have ordered my wedding dress from a lovely shop called get n hitched in enfield and i felt so comfortable there i actually spent an extra £300 to get the dress i wanted and im buying my bridesmaid dresses from them at £120 each so tough tittys to them!x(sorry had to rant as you may tell they really annoyed me)
