Oooohhh my first page of my wedding diary how exciting!!!
Well I am Natalie, I am 21 (22 in a few weeks), and I live in Surrey with my H2B Mark who is 24. I recently moved from Yorkshire to Surrey to live with my wonderful fiance. It was one of the best decisions I ever made to be honest. I have a nice job, and a beautiful home and some wonderful pets.
So the wedding, we got engaged on the 22nd Febuary this year. I proposed to Mark, after he got off the train when we were still tramming up and down the country every weekend to see each other. (Thankgod we don't do that any more!!) It was a complete surprise to Mark which was good. I wanted to propose on the 29th Febuary but we were not going to be together so I did it when I saw him!!! He accepted of course.
In March we decided where we wanted to live and get married which would be Surrey. As Mark went to church often we found we could marry in the local church. We then had to set a date, we discussed many dates and finally after doing some reseach and finding that it is cheaper, to get married on a Friday. We decided to have a Friday wedding in August, and when we saw the dates in August we fell in love with ours. I am rubbish at remembering dates so ours was absoloutly perfect!! So Natalie and Mark's wedding day was born, 7th, August 2009, or 789 as I like to think of it. Perfect.
The next stage was booking with the local church. We both went to church and arranged then to see the vicar one Monday night. Very exciting I can tell you, but I was extreamly nervous, felt like I should have been about 50+ and wearing floral blouses lol. We sat and talked with the vicar talked about the formal stuff like had we been christined Church of England and all our details. Then we finally got on to the exciting bit, the date, the date was free and we booked it provisionally. He then asked us times and on a whim we said midday. ( We have now thought more about it and are going to change it to 14.00).
We choose, our bridesmaids, ushers, bestman etc and everyone we wanted accepted!!! Then my parents told us they would pay for my wedding dress, and our venue hire nd wedding breakfast. After that we discussed stuff with my Grandparents, my grandma told me they would buy our wedding cake and pay for us to go on a honeymoon which was extremly good of them.
We have know provisionally booked a beautiful hotel as our venue and know what everyone is paying for things. Now just to convince my parents that this is a perfect venue without them seeing it......
