Becoming bridezila

I have been engaged since last September, my best friend got engaged in the January to less than desirable suitor but that’s another story , anyway we have grown up together so have similar taste but she is tom boy so I thought our weddings would be quite different for the day however it turns out that wedding fever has taken hold and turned her into a girlie girl .

Not a problem so far although I was worried bout our weddings being to similar and us trying to out do each other, but she assured me that this would not be the case she was all set for a autumn wedding so even though our colour schemes are similar it will be different time of year and different photos etc.

However last night she announced that she will be getting married in June, im getting married in May so there will be little time in-between and my colours were pink, gold, latta type, where as she wanted chocolate brown however if she is getting married in the summer she will properly lighten her colours to make then even more like mine .

I know I sound crazy but this has really got to me and I’m quite angry bout the situation- no one spends so much on a wedding for it not to be there special only day not to be compared or over shadowed by others especially not their best friend.

I cant even help her out with her wedding bearing in mind she works full time as I will be planning mine then off on honeymoon for 3 weeks so if she gets wed at the end of June I will just be returning.

Do you think I’m mad ??

I can understand why you're worried but remember that your wedding is first. I once went to two weddings in the same summer which used the same florist and the flowers were identical! I can't believe they did that but it was the second wedding that looked silly as everyone thought they had copied the first. Your friend won't want to look like she's copied you!

friend problems

I know the feeling - I have a friend who has been engaged for several years upon hearing I was engaged and had set a date (I wanted a short engagement) started to plan and book her wedding. Hers is a month after mine now but based on my original date she would've been the day before! It may be childish and petty but I can't help feel that shes taking the shine away from my special day! Also she seems to have turned it into a competition who has got the best or the cheapest etc. Perhaps she just wants to be involved or me getting engaged has given her a kick to get started but it did bother me for quite a while.

I've even limited how much I say about details in front of her not to end up with the same but not being a complete cow I have recommended several companies which we are using.

Either we are both ok or I've got some sort of wedding enduced madness!!
