Subject : Hen do for the older people

Hello All
Im not ageist (honestly) but im stuck about what to do on the second hen night that im planning with people like my mom, mother in law to be, family friends etc. One of my bridesmaids thought about a pampering session which sounds ok but cant think of anything else. Needs to be in Birmingham as thats where most of the people it affects lives and they dont want to go to a different city.

I would be grateful for any advice.:

I know my mum and mum in law to be would always be happy with a meal out and some drinks before hand/afterwards - if there were enough of you you could see if anywhere could do you a small private room. Sorry, don't know Birmingham well enough to suggest anywhere!

Any shows coming up at the NEC that they'd be interested in? Wasn't there a GoodFood one recently? And anyway, aren't the bridesmaids supposed to organise the hen night?

Oh - or how about a fancy learn to cook course - my friend did an afternoon of how to cook authentic Indian. Sorry - seem to be a bit obsessed with food this evening!

Hi the theatre sounds like a good idea too. My bridesmaids are helping me organise my hen do, in fact they have been great. Having two one for work people etc and then this one that is not so easy. I would let them organise this one but after a fall out with my mom late last year regarding the hen do I just want to make sure that its perfect.

Getting married in Italy in June 07 so that is costing people alot, which is why it is even more important to keep costs down.

Cheers

We're going to the evening races - but I'm not sure how that works for your logistically. Original idea was to just go out for a meal at a nice restaurant locally.

I'm doing the Spa day. For £80 we get access to the Spa all day, three course lunch, 1/4 bottle champagne each, 2-3 treatments and includes bathrobe, slippers etc.
Can't wait - it's in Dundee so not much use for you!

Good luck

I agree with Lisa-t-o. Bowling is good, clean, family fun! There's that bowling alley at Broadway Plaza (top of Broad St) which is pretty good.

Alternatively there's always the horse racing at either Stratford, Wolverhampton or Worcester, which is always great fun. But with this it really does depend whether there's a meet on the day you're planning it for.

Mellen x
