Subject : Anyone used HONEYMONEY

Recently found a site www.Honeymoney.co.uk

Basically you book at pay for your honeymoon (through any travel company) and then list an itinery of what you want to do on your honeymoon and can use this as your wedding list. Guests can log-onto the site and purchase items from your honeymoon itinery, the company then send you the money (less their fee) and then I can use this to pay off my massive credit card bill. Its a virtual list so you dont actualy get the items on it, you just get the monetary value.

I thought it may be a better idea than asking for cash?!?

I was just wondering if anybody had used this company before? Its just that I have never heard of them before so wanted to make sure they are reputable

Cheers guys::D

I would feel guilty as my guests would be likely to ask if I enjoyed their item after our honeymoon!!

It sounds like a great idea in theory though. I just couldnt do it.

It really sticks in my throat that almost 10% of my friends and families financial gifts would be spent on their fee.

If you want to skip paying a fee try
www.whattogive.com
Same principle whereby you set up a virtual list of things to do on honeymoon and people can promise you it as a gift. You get an email which they can personalise with a message and then send you a cheque. They can also pay by paypal but that means paypal taking their fee so we have opted now just for cheque payment. Everyone has really loved it and have been excited about what they have bought us. We will also use the photos to send out as thank you cards. So far we have been given abut £800 in gifts which has been a right help in paying for the honeymoon, x

hi mrsaldersontobe,

honeymoney charges more than smartweddinglist, which is why I started a new thread asking if people had used them. The thing I didn't like about honeymoney is that they charge the guests £3 for using a credit card! All my friends and family use one for security on the internet, so I thought that was unfair.

It's really hard though isn't it? You just don't know if they are reputable or not.
