Hi all i am from Dorset but live in Middlesex, we're getting married at Highcliffe castle and currently looking for a reception venue. We looked at Parley Manor which is gorgeous but was a bit over our budget and doesn't have any accommodation (most of our guests are from London) I would recommend looking at Parley Manor,

Hi ladies,

I'm from Dorset but getting married just outside Dorset at Elmers Court in Lymington.

Sharon85, have you looked at The Lord Bute, it is not far from Highcliffe castle and i know a couple of people who have had the wedding ceremony at Highcliffe castle and then moved onto The Lord Bute for the reception. There is accommodation there but not sure how pricey?

We're staying at the Lord Bute on our wedding night as the Mill doesnt have rooms. Its GORGEOUS! but too expensive for us to hold the whole day there. They only have about 15 rooms.....

Hi.
I currently live in Southampton, shortly to move near Reading due to jobs, but my mum and her family are all from Dorset, so we're getting married at Parley Manor on 30th July 09. Have wedding and reception there, and as it's a thursday it's a third of the price!

Accommodation is going to be a bit of a problem a reckon as my fiancé's family are all from N. Ireland. Thinking of having a mini bus to take everyone to hotel nearby.

I'm currently looking for good but reasonably priced photographer (round the £1000 price for photos and albums). Any recommendations? Also hair and make-up artist?

Hi Noviada,

We have booked a guy from Southampton called Jon Hayden (kahurangi photography). His work looks fantastic. Check out his website www.lovethosephotos.com. His prices are very reasonable compared to some that we have looked at!!! He is coming to Lymington to do our wedding next April so distance shouldn't be a problem. Hope this helps.

Hi Nikkinoos Lord Bute is the favourite at the moment. Just doing the sums now. It was the first place we looked at and after looking at about 30 other places it's still at the top.
Hopefully will have a decision by the end of the week!!!

wow. really? its so beautiful there. You'll have to let me know how it goes. I have just e mailed them and asked if we can put gold organza bows on the chairs. Am completely stressing over it tho, tacky/pretty, tacky/pretty. Are you having a band or the dj? i would prefer a band but am not sure if there is enough space there. x

I think we're going to go with their DJ. you'll have to let me know what the response is about the bows. Which room are you staying in? we have booked the Lord Bute Suite.
What theme are you going for? I think we're going with pale blue and silver, we're hoping to go and see LB when it's set up for a wedding just gotta find out the dates as we have to travel down there from Middlesex. where are you from?
How exciting!!!

they were fine about the bows. i emailed them last night and the responded within 5 minutes!! so impressed. we might have the dj too. Chris was definately trying to make us lean towards a dj rather than a band. maybe a band will be too big. we have booked the garden suite for 2 nights and probably mum will have the lorde bute suite. still undecided yet. I am going crazy with colour schemes tho, but i think it will be burgundy with some gold as their chairs have a gold rim.your colours sound lovely tho. i live just round the corner in christchurch. Ooooo i would love to see it set up for a wedding, can you do that then?

When we intially looked round chris said that we were welcome to visit when it is set up for a wedding, unfortunately we could never get down on the days he gave. We're going to find out when the next days are. I'm a bit worried as to the lay out as we're not having a top table but all round tables which i imagine will take up more room. How many are you having for the sit down?
