I'm in Wickersley in Rotherham. Getting married at the Consort Hotel, in Thurcroft then moving reception to the Gordon Bennett.

I booked;
PHOTOGRAPHER: Lloyd Bunting
CATERER/VENUE DECORATION: Picnics
MAKE-UP(nails, eyelash tint and makeup): Mandarin Beauty
HAIR: Cuttin Cru in Rotherham centre.
DRESS: a lady from Brinsworth, Liz.
SUITS: Formally Yours
VIDEOGRAPHER: a mate of my sister.

Yes, me! Although haven't exactly done much in the way of planning - I have a dress and I think I've found a venue and that's about it! Thinking about getting married at Whiston Manorial Barn - though haven't actually met with them yet!

I am in sheffield north.I am getting married oct 18 2008 in sheffield registry and my wedding breakfast and eve reception is in worrall near loxley. CHAMMY OCT I see you are using mandarin for beauty etc.I had a trial a couple of weeks ago and wasnt impressed my h2b and friends said I do my own makeup loads better so I have purchaced some mac and clinique

Anyone used indigo for chair covers?I have had a great price from them. Suits to sort h2b is getting them from skopes in castleford.

oooo thanks jojo, might have to book an earlier trial, and for me anyone is better at doing my make up than me. lol

I booked a lady from mandarin she put frosted grey eyeshadow on my eyelids near to the brow and I have slightly hooded eyes which she says a problem and I really don't like frosted.Couldnt see blush and the lipstick didnt suit at all it was a lipstain my lips looked really small no eyebrow definition either .It took 15mins. I asked her to take some of the shadow off and it did look better but I looked really washed out.My h2b didnt like it and my friends said it was rubbish.I would have a couple of trials if you are not gonna do it yourself.I am having my nails and hair done at my local salon and I have been going to a beauty salon in crookes for dermalogica facials.

Does anyone know a mobile hairdresser in sheffield Rotherham area?I haven't had any luck in finding one so I am gonna have to go to the salon.I am pushed for time though so if any of you lovely b2b could recommend 1.I am not having an up do just down and curled.

Who are you ladies using as photographers?

Thanks for the info Jojo, I am due a trial with Mandarin a month before my wedding (June). Have you tried to book anyone else as there doesnt seem to be many mobile beauty therapists in South Yorkshire?

No I am doing my own I have heard boobi brown and mac makeovers are brill but the nearest is manchester or leeds!!Loads of vigin vie ladies advertise bridal makeovers but I dont think they are makeup artists just sell the stuff .Polly jenson is supposed to be great for hair and make up but I didnt want to spend hundreds of pounds.I have bought some bits mac pre & prime my normal clinique stay true foundation mac loose powder and concealer.Spent less on mascara pencils and gloss.I thought I could spend the cash and have the makeup after.PHOTOGRAPHERS if you look on sheffield forum there are some recommendations.My dad is a great photographer and a friend does amateur he did a friends wdding and they where lovely so they are doing mine.My dad insists in between giving me away! Has anyone been to any wedding fayres?

Well thanks to Jojo, im now not having mandarin. Have booked ALL my beauty & hair stoofs with Kuttin Kru in Rotherham and the lady who does the make-up is coming out to the hotel to do it as its her day off!! Their make-up is the same price as mandarin but their trial is £5 cheaper woop!

Chammy - I see you are having your reception at the Gordon Bennett! Where abouts is this? The reason I ask is I am originally from south yorkshire & my parents still live there, near Doncaster, and my dads name is Gordon Bennett!!! This maybe somewhere good to take him for a treat, he's been really poorly just lately & needs a bit of 'pampering'!!

hey catlily, its only a hall with a bar and stage. We are on a budget so we haven't gone for a hotel reception. Nothing special unless you are holding an event!

heeey im loving this post im in doncaster i have been wondering if there was anyone out there from round this neck of the wood hehe. were planning on getting married at doncaster race course. weve been to view lots of venues in north yorkshire and still some to come but weve thought sod it home is where the heart is so yup goin to view it this week. got my dress my lady its gorgeous got it from tickled pink those ladies there are ace. and got my bridesmaid MOH dresses and accessories hehe thats it tho xxx
