Subject : What kinda wedding are you having?
Hi all - just wondered what you all had in mind for your overall theme for you wedding day?
I'm having a traditional country church wedding, with a modern slant - ie, black & cream with a hint of baby pink. Hope it works...?!! Have not told many people - but people's faces are a picture when they hear the word 'black'!
What is your theme and are you having anything out of the ordinary/individual?

Hi Mrs J2b..
We don't have a "theme" as such for our wedding, but our colour scheme is Ivory, Black and Antique Gold (i just love black!!) and I know EXACTLY what you mean about the look on people's faces when you mention "black" for a wedding!!! I think my mum thought I wanted a black wedding dress!! WOW can you imagine that!!
The pink will go great with your black & cream..
I'm even having an Ivory, Black and Antique Gold wedding cake!!! (my h2b's auntie is making it for us).
For our table centres, I wanted to go for the wow factor, so I'm having
3 ft high black glass lily vases with 25" Ivory and Black Ostrich feathers fanning out of the tops of the vases!! I've seen it done in black and red and it looked amazing!!!
I'll put up some links later of the dress I like for me and the ones I have chosen for my bridesmaids!!!
I'm off to cook Spag Bol and Garlic bread for tea now!!

Hi I'm having a christmas wedding as I love christmas. Gonna have lots of trees, foliage and fairy lights. Very worried about the logistics though e.g weather, daylight dimming as photos are taken, everyone freezing. Everyone thinks I'm mad. Am I selfish to put my dream above others' comforts?

We're going for a vintage theme, and are having a white, ivory, blue and silver colour scheme. We're having crystal candelabras as the centrepieces with huge rose heads around the base of each, then lots of strings of pearls and crystals hung from the arms. I'm already chosen and paid for my dress (Ian Stuart Cote D'Azure) and got the flowergirls dresses. We're having a four or five tier blue and ivory filigree piped cake with roses on the top, and similar decoartions for the night as what we are having for the day.

We are having a civil ceremony in an ex country house/monastery which is very gothic looking. Colours are cream, chocolate and either very pale pink or antique pink depending on what colour bridesmaid dresses we choose. Not having a wedding breakfast just a champagne and canape reception followed by a huge evening do with lots of entertainment. 120 day guests and 250 evening (with rolling buffet). There will be 16 under 16 year olds and they will have their own entertainment area both inside and out!! And july 2009 girls is going to be the nicest month weather wise in history!! x

We're having a traditional country style church wedding also. The colour scheme is going to be ivory and royal/ocean blue with hints of silver, nice and fresh for the summer imo. Especially fitting seeing as we're on the coast My mum is making large blue pottery bowls for the centre pieces and we'll be floating ivory candles and rose petals inside of them. I think i'll be helping my mum to make them, unless of course i'm rubbish and she tells me to get out of her studio The only thing that doesn't match the loose colour theme is our cake but I just fell in love with it and had to have it! It's going to be large as I ordered more to serve as dessert at the evening reception.

We are going to have a summer picnic - but a classy one of course! Any excuse for an excess of candles and lanterns and lounging around on cushions for a summers evening!

We're getting married outside St Paul's Chapel, St Paul's Bay, Lindos, Rhodes at 6pm and the order of the day will be flip-flops. There's not a theme as yet but it's definitely going to be a dumbed down day :)

Pretty things, sparkles, and butterflies, for our summer wedding. Mainly silver and cream with light blue bridesmaid dresses i think.
We are getting married in a georgain house, with lovely gardens, and a balcony over the river, and of course pimms lol!!! x

I've recently changed my mind about my colour scheme and have dropped the brown and replaced it for pale blue!! Thought it would be more summery, plus I saw this lovely flower all on its own when I was walking the dogs down the farm track the other night and it looked so nice I wanted to bring the colour into my day!!! Yeh a bit mad but thats me!!

Why are all the posts on here repeated??!!! strange!
Anyway, We havent got a theme really!! Should we??
A civil ceremony and recpetion in Cheshire. Perhaps not run of the mill - I want relaxed - garden style wedding - pimms on the lawn and giant jenga - blankets and cushions for the guests and lots of laughter! ( and a wedding somehwere inbetween)
We will be having the cake(s) - big surprise - as pudding and I am thinking of having the speeches before the meal so my poor sweet lovely Dad will relax!
Bridesmaids will be wearing black mainly because I would hope they would have the opprtunity to wear their dresses more than once seeing as though I will be paying for them!
However, I think my mum is going deaf cos she told everyone in her work that I was wearing black for the wedding!!! I think they were rather dismayed !
So, black, white and pink with fun and cocktails in the gardens....is that a theme?????
