Subject : sister chief bidesmaid major fall out

my twin sister is supposed to be cbm
6 months age she had a tatoo don on her forearm on the inside it a huge red teddy with baloons
had said she was going to do it i asked her not too as dresses i choose were strappless and all you would see was tatoos she had 4 on top of arms already a black panther head dino from flintstons a dagger and scroll with her name on
i told her before teddy i would make her wear a tent if she got it done
well other sister phonned me tonight to say she has had another tatoo done on the other arm on the inside her hubbys name in big 2" letters
so said that was it she was not cbm anymore as she was warned if she got anymore tatoos

i have no tatoos and i am not agaist them altogether but also don't want my wedding pictures to be the tatoo lady
the tension between us has been growing for sometime (long story)and basically told her to f off
so we have agread to get on with our lives without each other

i love her to bits but feal really strongly about this
shes says i should have her there as she is "i should except her for who she is"
what do i do?
she very pale skin and it would take alot of make up to cover that many coloured tatoos
and don't really want to do that i had asked her not to get anymore tatoo and given my reasons
am i clinging on as she is the last of my family(i have younger sister i found 4 years ago but not the same a my twin and i)

Please dont think my response is harsh, its not intended to be....

What is more important to you... your idea of perfect wedding photos or your sister at your wedding (as cbm / guest)?

I appreciate that you feel frustrated and upset as perhaps she could have waited till after the wedding to get more tatoos.

You could always get her a bolero / shrug / wrap etc, to cover up the tatoos during the ceremony and major picture taking or you could just be careful with the photos and ask the photographer to position her so her tatoos maybe aren't as obvious.

x

Could you get her a cardigan/shawl to go with the dresses that would cover the tattoos?
I understand your upset as you had asked her to hold off until after the wedding for anymore tattoos, it isnt like asking her to wait to try for a baby........

Sorry, I am probably going to sound harsh too but I agree with char2609.
Surely its here presence that is important not just how she will look.
Obviously she could have just held off having anymore done until after the wedding but they are there now and cant be removed.
If you talk to your photographer 1st, Im sure he/she will be able to position her so you wont be able to see them or you will only see the minimum amount of them!
Like the others say, get her a shawl or bolero jacket, she wont have to wear it all day and night just for parts of it and if she isnt happy about that then remember its your day so really she should be happy to do what you want .

I read somewhere about some sort of makeup that is supposed to hide tatoos when it is not a good idea to show them. I think it was a b2b who was less than proud of what she had done when she was younger. Can't you ask your sister to put some of that on the more obvious tatoos?

Have a look on Ebay for tattoo cover up.
Have come across it several times xxx
If not get her a wrap or bolero....
Another idea would be to put her at the back of the pics so you can only see her head..... lol only kidding xxx

I agree with some of the girls about the importance of having your sister there with you for your day and not about what she has on her arms. As you say you love her to bits and yes that means accepting her however she is. If you are worried about tatoos showing up on the photos how about asking the photographer to erase the tatoos. It's amazing what they can do with a bit of lightroom here and there with digital.
