Subject : Arghhhh it's all getting a bit much! *Update*
Sorry to rant ladies but i'm losing my grip a little. I just feel like everything is happening around me and i'm just standing still.
My job is really starting to run me down. It's a part time job while i'm at uni but i'm regularly hitting over 30 hours, which i don't usually mind but it's just taking up too much time. I'm working late nights which has totally thrown my eating out of the window. As some of you might know from previous posts i'm a coeliac so i have difficulty eating at the best of times but working nights is totally throwing it up in the air. I can't get anything microwaveable so i'm stuff eating things like crisps and fruit. It's not substantial enough. My other half, who is usually very good seems to have taken a brain vacation and not mentioned doing any shopping for days which has resulted in us running out of gluten free food. I've been trying to write an essay all day so haven't been able to get out and buy any more (there's nowhere local that sells it) so he suggested i have cheese and crackers for tea!! Hardly going to sustain me for an 8 hour shift! Especially as i've only had yoghurt and crackers to eat all day. This probably sounds so pathetic but it's just getting me down :(
Also feeling really left out because my H2B's parents are coming down this weekend even though i'm busy again! This is the third time it's happened and i'm starting to think that they're really not that bothered about seeing me :(

Sorry to hear this...
Have you thought about jacket potatos? They are microwaveable, as are beans... It would be much more substantial for you. It's important not to get run down...
Probably a more problematic solution...but could you find a different job? Sounds like your hours are really impacting on your health. Emotionally and physically.
Don't take it personally about your h2b's parents. What you are thinking may not be the case at all. Maybe you could suggest another weekend when you are free?
Take your essay a bit at a time. I am working through my final assignments too at the mo, and it's pretty stressful! How about taking a break and going food shopping? That's the priority x

Jacket potatoes are a great option usually but recently just the thought of them have made me feel really ill. I think i might have just eaten too many of them. At uni it's literally the only thing i can have so i've been eating loads of them. I'm just fed up with the whole illness. It makes food shopping so depressing.
I told my other half that this weekend wasn't a good one and suggested after i've finished uni in a couple of weeks but this seems to have been forgotten about.
I just feel like a bit of an after thought at the moment, with everything :(

Poor you can you take some time of work maybe a weekend? You defo need to cut the hours back if you at uni. I'm sure his parents aren't planning this on purpose prb just feels worse. I'd ditch the essay too and get food, you wont get anything of any real value done anyway.

Unfortunately i don't have time to get food now.....start work at 6. I wish i could take time of work but i just can't afford to. I work in a theatre in Brighton and it's the Brighton festival at the moment so all venues are super busy but come june everything will be dead and i'll be lucky to get any hours. Need to earn as much as possible now to tide me over until it gets busy again.
I'm sure his parents aren't doing this deliberately because they're really lovely people, it just feels that it really doesn't matter to them if i'm busy or not. They don't live that far away so could feasibly come down anytime but they always seem to want to come when i'm working or piled up with essays. I don't want my other half to have to say they can't come because as close as they live they don't make the effort that often.

I get on really well with them. Don't see them wanting to go food shopping though. They'll only come down for about 6 hours or so. They'll have a cup of tea, wander round town, take other half for dinner and then go home (at least that's how it usually goes.)

Yes, where are you? Could someone off here do you some shopping?!
I know what you mean about being sick of jacket potatoes....I'm vegan and it's the only thing suitable at uni for me too.
Could you do an online food order?

We online shop with ocado because they have a great gluten free range but H2B never remembers to do it. I always initiate it and to be honest i'm a bit fed up of it :( I just feel like such a burden. It's a nightmare to eat out etc. I'm pretty sure people avoid taking me out to dinner!

hi - have you tried jacket SWEET potatoes? Ive just discovered them... yummy, and not carbs, apparently, so better in weight loss terms..
Also I bought a bread maker and use it every day - you could make gluten free bread, it takes 2 mins to put all the stuff together, and you can put it on timer so its ready first thing, or when you get home.. probably cheaper than the gluten free stuff too.

I think a bread maker is a good idea. Might have to ask for one as a pressie!

Bleurgh, just had a big fight with H2B and now i'm at work feeling hungry and crap!
We argued about the lack of food and the fact he said he'd have a think and maybe bring something but never did and the fact he's so accomodating of everyone else, even when it means inconveniencing or letting me down. I just feel like i'm playing second fiddle to everything else. I just feel really lonely and i don't feel like we're connecting in the way we once did :(
I don't know what i'm looking for anymore....
