Subject : blue and yellow theme???

hi

we are having our evening reception at a different location from the rest of the wedding

i am just in the process of writing the invitations and called the venue to check times etc.

the lady who i was dealing with has left and i got put through to the chairman ( its a British legion) who sounded nice, but a bit clueless about venue hire. he sounded quite an elderly gentleman

i mentioned about us decorating the room and he said it has to be blue and yellow - same as legions colours (the woman had said she would get tablecloths any colour we wanted)

i had actually wanted pinks, silvers and browns to fit in with the bridesmaids etc

blue and yellow?
any ideas how i can make it look nice - they are not the best combination of colours imo

anyway, im not going to get all stressed - it won't really matter as its at a different location

i also mentioned the buffet - we had agreed some changes but he was very vague and said i should come in 10 days before to discuss it.

just feels its all going to be a bit hit and miss now without someone to discuss things with

do you reckon i'm right to be feeling a bit concerened?!
lizzie x

Maybe you could arrange a meeting with him? Go and talk over all of the details again? Seems that you booked with this lady thinking one thing and as she has left you have to change your plans. I am sure he will understand and be reasonable about it, sometimes going in person makes it easier, I wouldn't be too happy about how vague it all sounds. Not sure about blue and yellow, you might get away with sticking a bit of silver in with it, hopefully you can arrange your colours and compromise on the blue and yellow in there in a small way????

nothing wrong with blue and yellow. littlewoods have some nice yellow dresses at the moment that may suit your bridesmaids. If you go onto their wedding section its on there
blue dress here: http://www.littlewoods.com/rf/navigation/spreadDsbs.do?categoryId=7077638

was bit bit unsure if youd bought the dresses or not.

Blue and yellow there are loads of ideas such as above. There are so many different shades of blue and yellow so its how dark or light you want to go

Hi, I had a blue and yellow theme for my wedding. All our stationary was blue (including the place names on the tables), my bridesmaids dresses were different shades of blue, the groomsmen wore silver blue cravats and waistcoats, my flowers were hyacinths and yellow tulips, and the flowers in the reception were various shades of blues and yellows. We also had chair covers and the bows were alternating blue and yellow. Oh and on the tables I had freeze dried blue petal confetti, and we had favour bags with blue tissue paper inside for the boys and yellow tissue paper for the girls.

I know it may sound like I've gone a bit overboard with the blue and yellow, but it didn't look like that!

I've got lots of pictures if you want me to email you a few!!
