Hi everyone - I'm new to this site and hope that you can give me some good advice in the coming months. I'm having an issue with my mum at the moment. I have decided that i want my three bridesmaids (all will be 28 when i get wed) to wear black dresses to the wedding. They are alfred angelo ones so i can get a shock of colour as a sash and also have some as the trimming. I am also planning on having a black and white dress (also AA!!). One of th reasons i have chosen the particular dresses is so my girls can wear them again. My mum is convinced that it'll look rubbish in the photos and is trying to put me off. I was planning on having bright gerbera daisies as our flowers to add some mroe colour. Has anyone chosen black for their own dress/bridemaids dresses?

Hey, My colour scheme is Black and Ivory and my bridesmaids are wearing black Alfred Angelo dresses with ivory trim, I think they look lovely!!!

Black Dresses

Go black..! I've got stunning black Dessy dresses for my 2 bridesmaids. Very similar to you as we have shocking pink gerberas and black marabou feathers for posies (sounds revolting but it is a gorgeous combination) and you can also put a lime green in too if you wanted something abit different with the table pieces. Black Dresses

My close friend had a beautiful black with pink crysrtal wedding dress and it looked stunning, her bridesmaids also wore black dresses and had bold coloured flowers and hair accessories. It looked fantastic and the photos will never date, so dramatic and it gave the whole day a 'wow' factor.
Go for it!!!! You know what mums are like, my mum had 12 bridesmaids in yellow back in the day...ewww!!! LOL

Black Dresses

i am looking to have black dresses for my 3 bridesmaids and black flowers in bouquet to tie it in. my mom is the same, she says that black is not a wedding colour but i have seen so many pictures of bridemaids in black. its each to their own and i wan tto stay as far away from pink or baby blue that i can
i think that as long as its what you want then it really doesnt matter what anyone else thinks.
in my opinion black is so classic you cant go wrong (as long as you dont pile on with loads of black make up and acsessories
