Hi I am ony having one bridesmaid, who is a friend who is like a sister to me. She has been really supportive and been dragged round florists and organised a great hen night for me.... but... She hates everything I have got for her! I have bought her a beautiful bridesmaids dress, flowers, jewlery and hair clip... and all she can say is....'well, as long as you like it, it is your weddin day' Arrghh!! Am I just being plain selfish, or should she just pretend to like it all? Its not like I'm putting her in a peach satin merangue or anything! Thanks for listening to me whingeing! xx

Bridesmaid issues

I think she should have what you ask her to wear, its your wedding. I have a problem with bridesmaids too. I wanted to just have three my two nieces and my best friend. My fiances sister was going to do a reading as she wasn't into being a bridesmaid and if I'm honest I didn't want her to be one because she is a bit of a show off and thinks she is alway right about everything. However before Christmas she changed her mind and now said she will be (depending on what she has to wear!!) Then my fiances mum said she does really want to be my bridesmaid!! Now I'm suck with a bridesmaid I don't want but I cannot say I don't want you as I don't like upsetting people and my future mother-in-law is paying for her dress!!! This girl is 25!! Sorry about having a moan!

Bridesmaid issues

My sister is pregnant and due in the month before our wedding. I sacked her as a bridesmaid. Getting a dress would be a nightmare and put a lot of pressure on her when she has other things to worry about. Instead she is doing a reading at the wedding (and her husband is staying at the back of the church to make a hasty exit if the baby cries). I am worried though that a new baby in the family will take over our day a bit though.

She is totally in the wrong! It's you're wedding she should be supportive and help make it your perfect day. It could be worse... afetr my h2b asked me to marry him I told my best friend and I was about to ask her to be my bridesmaid and she started yelling at me about how stupid I was and telling me I'm ruining my life. Then my other best friend tried to split me and H2B up so now I'm totally stuck for bridesmaids :(
