We are getting married in the church (catholic) but we didn't get asked for that. We have filled out all the paperwork etc but the first time we went, the priest gave my hubby to be (not me cause im divorced) a piece of paper that he had to get his mother to sign stating that he was free to marry. I was quite worried because i thought it was all going to be a long process but everything got sorted within a couple of months. All churches are different but speak to your priest. He may have the paperwork for you. |

i think this is the form you need to get filled out from your city counci. You can find the forms online (i got mine from Belfast city council under marriages). You then need to get one form for each of you filled out and then the priest signs this in acceptance that you are both able to be married - give the church a ring and double check this but this is what i have been asked to do |
