Is it OK to ask bridesmaids to pay for their own dresses?

Is it ok to invite friends to your hen night if they are not invited to the wedding? I have invited some people from work to the wedding, but would like to ask some of the girls I work with, but had no space left to invite to the actual wedding! Help?

Hen night Dilema

Any one got any advice?
My best friend is my cheif bridesmaid and planning my hen do. She is really laid back with the idea of a small hen do with a few friends, lots of wine and maybe a nice meal. She does like to go out and get drunk, but i know i am a little strange but at 23 this is not my idea of fun. To be honest i would rather sick hot pokers in my eyes. The problem lies with my sister and mother who are determined that i have to go out n spend my last nite of freedom wrecked in some horrible binge drink weekend. How do i tell them its not what i want or should i just shut up and go with the flow?

Please help!

It also is fine for peolpe to come to your ceremony and not to the reception after.

It is absolutely fine - receptions are generally only family and really close friends.
Dont feel like you have to explain - more people understand than you think!

  • We had a mouse when we first moved in and we couldn't shift him for love nor money. I spotted him...
